Bon Temps reaches a fever pitch as Maryann prepares for her ultimate bestial sacrifice, conscripting Sookie to be maid of honor at the bloody nuptials. Deliberating on what may be his final move to save Sookie and the town, Sam places his trust, and his life, in a most unlikely ally. Jason leads Andy into the heroic abyss. Hoyt struggles with Maxine's endless stream of insults. Sophie-Anne warns Eric to keep the lid on Bill's inquisitiveness.moreless

I couldn't wait for that Maryann stuff to be over with. That ran it's course way too long. Making it the focal point of the season finale was a mistake in my opinion. This season finale or the last two episodes can not compare to what happened in Dallas. It was like I was all excited when everyone was in Dallas, but when they got back home it was so boring, with episode eleven being just out-right terrible. It's like they got it backwards, they should have killed Maryann first, and then the drama in Dallas. That would have been a better ending.moreless

Okay, I love, love this show. And for the life of me, I really wanted to like this finale. But I didn't. I was really tired of the storyline with Maryann, and was very happy to see her die (allthough her death should have been several episodes ago...). But it just wasn't the big bang I was hoping for. Ok, so it was a surprise that Sam trusted Bill with his life, but everything just went over so easy, and was resolved much too quickly. And where was Eric? How could he not play a bigger part in the last couple of episodes when there was so much promise after Dallas??? All in all, this has not been my favourite season. I really liked the first half, with Dallas and the church, but all the Maryann-business was just not captivating enough. I must admit that I've read the books, and am a afraid for how far the series have strayed from them. Some of the things that have happened this season makes it really difficult for certain other storylines to develop. It just seems very strange... Well, you know I'm still going to be watching season 3, if nothing else to enjoy Eric... ;)moreless

The show that seemingly redefined weekly cliffhangers ends it's season with a mellow and rather disappointing final act that aims too much at feelings instead of old fashion action.

Is it just me or are there too many dead black folks in the parking lot of Merlot's every season finale? Just kidding, I'm not pointing fingers here, and if anything, Eggs' death was very welcome now Marianne's arc is over. We love Tara, and we do not wish to see her with somebody who killed people and hit her, under influence or not. On to the bigger storylines; Marianne's finale was weak and boring. We all knew she would die, and the whole wedding things had the potential of being a stunning final fight, but became a boring ritual with a lot of talk and no real action. I mean sure, Sam sacrificing himself for the greater good was endearing, but I can't say I was really sad when they stabbed him. Luckily, he did provide the biggest shock by turning into a cow. But what was more shocking is when I looked at the playing time and saw the episode was only half done. And with Tara saying that she felt like it wasn't over, I prepared for so much shocking stuff, I could only get disappointed. The cliffhanger was weak in general, but for True Blood who ended regular episodes with the entire cast being threatened by a bomb or worse, this was plain bad. Jessica turning away from Hoyt to bite random truckers? Bill proposing to Sookie who first declines, but realizes she does want to while he gets abducted? Jason shooting Eggs and Andie taking the blame? It was all very mellow, and very low shocking wise.
No, for me this was a very, very bad episode of True Blood and the only real good thing was the Queens and Eric's sexual tension in their Yahtzee-scene.moreless

The hunter becomes the hunted and things are turned upside down at the end in a few ways. We really begin to at least understand that Sookie is more than human. Bon Temps attempts to return to normal whatever that may be.moreless

So many things going on but joyfully the end of one storyline I am truly glad to see end. Unfortunately we were given some kind of foreshadowing of the fact that things were not completely done.

Sam and Bill work together to really save the town and the weird part is in the end only Sookie really understands the truth. Sam does the final deed that needed to be done with Bill's help. For the most part the towns memory of what occurred is wiped clean.

We learn that Eric is involved with the Queen of the area in a venture that seems like it could be very dangerous on so many levels specially for Bill Compton.

Sam leaves for a few days to try to find out the truth about himself. We learn a little more about the disaster his life has been up to this point. Jessica truly feels alone as Bill is not paying attention to her and Hoyt acted like he abandoned her. It does seem that Hoyt did regret his actions but we don't really know where that is going. We know its turning deadly for someone.

Jason and Andy believe they are heroes and in the end they saved the town. Of course that is based on what they knew their intentions were but in reality they are oblivious like the rest of the town. Andy does get his badge back though and we see a crazed tragedy at the end which will cause a tremendous amount of pain for Tara and possible Jason.

The cliffhanger for next year was excellent. We see Sookie calling out for Bill and not seeing anything but a fallen chair, a messed up table, and an open door. There are so many possible conclusions to come too and we will have a while to think about it.

Overall a good ending to the season. Pretty clear cut based on where things had been left the last few episodes. There are some huge problems we will have to see dealt with and then there is Sookie and Bill. It was nice to see in a moment of clarity Sookie say yes! Thanks for reading...moreless

I liked the way the writers left us thinking about all sorts of things. The Queen, Bill, Eric, Sookie's fate, and so on.

I just got into True Blood over the summer. I saw it for the first time just a month ago and got hooked. I had to catch up, so I could watch the finale. Wow! I am so happy that I did. You will love it. The writers leave us hanging, for sure. Since I read all the books, and the show is not following them at all, I can't wait for the next season! Sookie has a a lot to think about. Will it still be Bill? Or will those dreams keep coming back? You know the ones... with Eric the Viking! My vote is Eric, but it could swing either way, just to keep us watching.moreless
