A True Blood Community
HBO (ended 2014)

When we last saw HBO's True Blood, Eric Northman's manly bits were in serious danger of becoming bacon. The Swedish vampire with the body of a Greek god burst into flames atop a mountain, where he was reading in the nude. You know, as you sometimes do. If you've been spending the show's hiatus worried about Eric and his business, rest easy because not only will Alexander Skarsgård return for the upcoming seventh and final season, but now we know when that will be: Sunday, June 22 at 9pm. The network has even released a new teaser to accompany the premiere date, which features the Bon Temps cemetery and the tombstones of many people we've lost along the way. Check it out!

Leading out of True Blood this season will The Leftovers from Lost co-creator and former Fancy Feast Twitter enthusiast Damon Lindelof. The drama about the Rapture—or what people think might've been the Rapture—will debut Sunday, June 15 at 10pm immediately following the Season 4 finale of Game of Thrones. Adapted from the novel by Tom Perrotta, The Leftovers begins three years after two percent of the world's population disappears without explanation, and follows the rest of the world as everyone struggles to figure out WTF happened. The cast features plenty of familiar faces: You'll recognize Justin Theroux (Mr. Jennifer Aniston, Six Feet Under), Amy Brenneman (Private Practice), Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who), Liv Tyler (multiple Aerosmith videos and Lord of the Rings), and super hunks Charlie and Max Carver (Teen Wolf). And if you want to get an early look at the series, keep an eye on HBO a few minutes before this Sunday's Game of Thrones premiere to see the first teaser.

Are you ready for one more round of True Blood? Does The Leftovers sound interesting to you?

I'll check it out. It sounds interesting. Plus it has my Twunks in it! I will miss them on Teen Wolf, but maybe they'll be as shirtless in this as they were in that.

Cool news! Both of them!

I'll check out The Leftovers because it could be a great show (definitely high concept ambitions) but True Blood, no thanks, that show has been painful to watch since at least mid-season 4 and I bet Season 7 will be totally awful. I have no insider knowledge, just logical deduction from the decaying trend in quality of both writing and, at times, acting...

I may even go to the HBO shop and pick up some Tru Blood to drink for the premiere. Woo Hoo! I'm so excited, I want to freak out!

Cool teaser! I can't wait, but I'm also apprehensive. I hope it's really great! TB is my favorite show. The Leftovers looks interesting as well.

I don't expect much from teasers but I think this is one of the better ones out there. A nice little reminder of the "major" deaths and then the last shot of True Blood's own future grave, an appropriate and fitting acknowledgement that it's all led to this season.

Let's hope that the writers have a consistent plan for the season, culminating in a fitting ending.

We do not need crazy randomness finished with some generic mass showdown finale which makes no sense and leaves Sookie as a lumberjack staring forever onwards over her meagre cabin dining table.

Never watched True Blood before but I'm looking forward to The Leftovers. Especially with Chris Zylka in it, I can feel nostalgic about the TSC days.

Leftovers If it gets too lost I will be tuning out also if Amy brenneman plays ANOTHER neurotic character that will turn me off definetly! Otherwise I think its time true blood ended.

I'm excited for The Leftovers, but really, another series I want to watch airing on Sunday's? Am I destined to spend the rest of my life figuring out how to fit in four plus hours of television every Sunday night?

That teaser could be a little spoilery for those who aren't up to date... And it also shows that True Blood has killed surpringly few main and/ or important characters over the years. Here's hoping the final season changes that.

If there's one show that has potential to have a final season that's worse than Dexter's, it's True Blood. I don't want that to be the case, but it could happen.

So true! I did put myself through the final season of Dexter and geez was that painful. But no amount of True Blood (the beverage) nor promises of naked Vikings (unburned) would make me watch the awful show that TB has now become. Ugh!

Sorry for this late response, but I just now saw your comment. I kind of agree, but Dexter's final season was so fucking bad that it made the latest season of True Blood not seem so bad. I'm by no means saying it was good, but it just didn't seem that bad compared to Dexter. At least True Blood is kind of meant to be campy, when Dexter tried to be campy or whatever, it failed miserably. I understand you not wanting to watch again, but I've put up with enough bad from True Blood that I can get through ten more episodes. I'm mainly doing it for just a few characters.

Blasphemer! JK O man I hope not. The Dexter finale was so strange. I'm extremely ambivalent about it. But, I really hope that they bring the awesome with the last season

Eric Northman is way too skinny to be a Greek God.

The extent of my interest in the Leftovers was to check out one episode & see how it goes from there. Now that I know Eccleston's gonna be in it, It's still gonna be touch & go from the start, but now I have a smidge more interest in it.

Feels like an eternity since True Blood was last on. Better dust off my blackout shades and get some absinthe in time for it.
Shame all the title for The Leftovers reminds me of is something unwanted. And as fun as it was to have Charlie and Max Carver in Teen Wolf, let's hope they don't have any compelling lines as they sound like Munchkin old ladies.

There are 11 Sundays between now and June 15th (including June 15th, of course) which means they're going to skip a week somewhere along the line. I was hoping we would have a continuous run with no gaps, that's one of the perks of ten episode seasons, no big gap for the holidays or anything, but small gaps are still an ever present danger. Probably Easter I suspect, that wouldn't be so bad though seeing as my sister and her new husband will be visiting then, but if it's any other Sunday I'll be pissed.

Leftovers sounds very interesting.
Alexandr Skarsgard's naked form is much more interesting, however. Roll on Summer!
