  • Death becomes them; but they do leave a mess behind!

Sayonara and good riddance to the Magister and to Lorena. They died with their boots on as it were...if only they had taken Sophie Ann with them, though she did manage to make me laugh this evening.

We got to find out more about Pam's background too, as well as be thankful she was freed: in addition to being a Chanel girl, a Lobouton girl she is also a Tiffanys girl, albeit with a leather fetish! I'm looking forward to more of her wicked humour...

So, not being a reader of the books I'm guessing Sookie is some kind of fairy-in-waiting or something. Now who is the "he" that is after her light? The line up is long starting with Bill, incorporating Eric and rounded out with The King.

Alcide might have made the mistake of a life time in sparing Debbie and he may also be canineus-non-grata for killing so many of his own; not to mention how unhappy the King will be.

Sam is a good brother and its too bad some of those dogs couldn't have taken it out on the parents from hell. I assume they will eventually get theirs but we have a few more eps to go.

Much better season for keeping up the interest factor in all the story lines. Non of them are becoming absurd either as they did last season...well, at least by True Blood standards anyway. I'm liking it, but would like a bit more Eric...moreless
  • sookies purgatory

well well what a tastefully bloody episode and it opens up storylines much more. sam infiltrates the dog fighting tournament and finally gets tommy away from his parents. jason goes about getting meth for a convict to get answers. sookie, tara, and bill make their grand escape but not before killing lorena thus making the show a little less annoying. bill snaps when sookie gives him some blood to see if hes still alive. he feeds on her until tara checks on her, so she boots bill out of the van and takes off to the hospital where they find out sookie has no blood type and also that sookies purgatory contains alot of shine and sun. russell becomes more a sinister villian by killing the majestor by decpitating him. but the thing of the episode is what the heck is the secret about sookie. its probably that her blood makes vampires invincible judging by how bill didnt burn up after being kicked out in the sun.moreless
  • "You wouldn't know love if it hit you in the fangs!"

I just want to start off by saying, this episode had some of the best quotes ever. Debbie had a few nice ones: "vampire burrito" ... "don't even think about it b*tch" "you chose a bad time to call me b*tch, b*tch." Of course, Russell delivered a great one "There's a new f*cking authority in town!" Fantastic.

Lorena's death was overdue and perfect - couldn't imagine anyone but Sookie killing her. I'm glad that she will no longer appear and try to ruin Bill's life. Debbie is crazy and I love her for it, can't wait to see more of her - I think she's a great character but I can't see her coming back next season.

Jason's storyline equals blah. Would like more Hoyt and where was Jessica? I hope Jessica kills Summer.

The human birdcage Sophie-Anne was trapped in was lovely and Eric is just deliciously evil - but in a different way to others. He is sort of a Vampire with a heart.

The return of Tara came this episode and I'm so glad to see her back (by this I mean the old personality of Tara, rather than the crazy, depressed Tara, we got season 01 style). She is badass, kicking Bill out into the sun.

Okay, let's get down to Sookie. First of all, Sookie is becoming more of a mystery every episode but this episode really put her story into motion. No blood type, the trippy dream, the light and dark euphemisms - I'm thinking Sookie is light and Bill (obviously) is the dark - but still that was one camp, trippy, freaky, weirdo dream.

Finally, Pam is back! More, more, more of Pam please. Also, Russell is hardcore and I like him even more after that beautiful decapitation.moreless
  • Drank just a little bit much

A highly prominent episode this week as we saw the deaths of two prominent villains; Lorena who was just annoying, and the Magister (played by creepy Emmy winner Zeljko Ivanek). Most of the episode focused on Sookie being hospitalized after taking Bill off the Eddginton estate with Alcide and Tara and Bill drinking ravenously from her. They then dump him out in the sunlight and Sookie visits a weird dream world where she meets a mystery woman named Claudine who tells her to not let Bill take her light. Bill's blood revives her of course and Eric finally found out what Sookie was from Hadley and Russell and Sophie are now wed (sort of). But I wonder if Debbie after she proimised to hunt down Alcide will really live up to her promise to get him for killing Coot. Also Tara's badassery was a welcome change from her sobby woe is me attitude at season's beginning.moreless

True Blood has been pretty good this season, but this was just a bit over the top. Too much blood, too much gore, I was actually cringing when the discussion of piercing ones eyelid was brought up.

This show was low on substance, the only real storyline advancement was the "light" that Sookie now seems to have lost, but other than that it was just vampires being vampires, and honestly, this show used to be about so much more than that.

I am all for crash TV, I am all for over the top theatrics, but I am afraid this latest True Blood was just too much for me.moreless
