  • I Found You

    6.0
A little better than the season premiere, but the show has just lost so much of the magic that kept it afloat for yours. Predictable scenes from start to finish, no sharp humor, limited violence, just so many flaws.
  • That Other Town (Spoilers Ahead)

    7.0
Another week another bland offering of a once promising show. Surprisingly there was still a lot to like about this week's episode after all, so let's dive right in.

After the attack on Bellefleur's bar in the opener Sookie, Andy, Alcide, Jason, and Sam all head to a nearby township to find that they too were all wiped out by the H-vamps (a heavy handed pit of dead bodies is the evidence of this). But finding the house of a dead family (wouldn't people just stay inside, I mean vamps can't get in) I guess there was some exploited loophole but the writers are too lazy to elaborate on it I guess. But it does boost the isolation of Bon Temps being all alone without government forces coming to help them, with small towns left to their own devices. The most on the nose part was Sookie finding a diary of a young girl who fell in love with a vampire and it is meant to reflect how she fell for Bill (the show still is in 2011 for some reason as is established by the journal). Although Alcide's insistence that Sookie fell for Bill the same way that everyone falls for their first love, "hard and fast" was a nice little romantic touch. They make such a cute couple after all. Or so it would seem as she goes to visit Bill and asks him if he can still Feel her through his vamp senses.

Speaking of fear the entire town, with the exception of Adeline and Holly's son what's-his-face decide to break into the police station and steal all of the guns. Even Kenya helps them do it by being reasoned with by fellow townsfolk. Even the crazy guy who still claims to have seen Sam as a dog (which is in fact true) is apparently charismatic enough to play on people's fears and get them to shoot off guns in the station. Jessica awakens to Adeline's cries for help but apparently doesn't have enough people's numbers to call Jason or anyone to help her. Andy finds her up there later and they both agree to find Adeline and make her safe. Andy is actually not half that annoying being all singularly focused and all makes him much more bearable than in past episodes.

At Fangtasia Arlene and the gang manage to get the new food overseer (who happens to be a teacher from her kid's old school) into letting them go while the other H-vamps upstairs are sleeping. She agrees but needs to feed (I wish they would establish how long it exactly takes for an H-Vamps to die and how long constant feeding holds it off for, that would be good to know since Nora is the only one that we have seen be inoculated and die so quickly these new ones are dying a lot slower it would seem). But it goes south when the teacher tries to feed on Arlene and becomes a smoking pile of goo, ruining their escape.

Then there was some boring stuff about Lettie Mae tricking Willa into giving her her blood so that she can trip and send Tara's soul over to the afterlife or something. I don't really care I fast-forward through most of her boring scenes anyway, why did they make her a main cast member again?

Insert unnecessary sex dream of Jason and Eric at the beginning (fan service anyone?) and Pam finding Eric in France all withered and apparently stricken with Hep-V makes his character presence diminished but him being less than ok is a good place to work from as we head for the end.

Anyone by no means a strong episode but it was far mroe serviceable than a lot of Seasons 4 and 5 were to be sure and there's only 8 episodes left so hopefully they can stop being good and go to great soon.moreless
  • Finally We see Eric!

    10
All i've cared about is Eric. Happy to see he is still there even though it doesn't look good for him. I am thinking sookie's blood will be the cure!
  • This won't be the best True Blood season, for sure

    5.0
Damned, another of those gay fantasy V things. Why am I still watching this. But, on the other hand, Eric made a Vesper martini, which excuses everything ;_0
