True Blood

Things started out pretty reasonable and interesting; enough that I watched into four seasons. Good girl Sookie hooks up with a good vampire, undying love, faithful to each other; a decent love story with unusual problems. By Season 4 she's turned into a whore and he's an evil opportunistic "good" guy. Jessica and Hoyt, young kids deeply in love, working hard to make something good out of their situation; now she's a whore sleeping with Hoyt's best friend. Everyone is screwing everyone, what the heck, vampires using humans as tools and disposable sex objects, no real values anywhere; just people using people. No one, at any social level appears to possess any character or decency that doesn't at some place wallor into animalistic sex or treachery. If you removed the "F" word, you would have shortened the series by 2 hours. Someone would have to point out to me anything virtuous in the storyline. The whole thing is sick.



When it began, I would have given this a decent rating; however, this entire series has descended into one putrid morass of sex, drugs, lying, cheating, group sex, betrayal, blood and guts, foul language, and ruined, broken people. Did I miss anythingoh yeah, and mocking people of faith, specifically Christians, who are portrayed as moronic, hypocritical buffoons. What started out fairly decent turned into a piece of crap. I refuse to watch the rest.

I can describe this show in a thousand words and some of them are: pointless, crap, waste of time, and plain old stupid. This show has no meaning, from the first time I watched this show I got so bored I didn't even want to complete the episode. Then my friend convinced me and tolled me "Just keep watching it, trust me you will like it.", so I took his advice and continued to watch this crappy show and I watched the first 4 episodes, they were all stupider than the other. Each show is 54 mins or something like that which means 54 mins of a stupid show. The actors cant act, the plot is even worse, the storyline sucks, and the setting is horrible. I can't believe this show is one of the top rated, it can't be it's just dumb! My friend then tolled me "It's just the first season, trust me and watch the next one and you will like it", so then I finished season 1 and watched season 2 and some of season 3. IT SUCKS! I can't explain more, this show is pure horrific and badly written.

I am usually very generous when i review and rate a show. Even if i disliked it, i always try to see it for the good deeds, after all it's someone's work you're watching, it must worth something. But that was until True Blood... The only reason i didn't rate it zero is because it wouldn't let me rate it less than 1. I don't have one single good thing to say about this show. This is just the kind of cheesy garbage i expect to live up only to it's first season. The acting is lame, the plot is ludicrous, it's not even a plot in the first place, but a horrible sketch that should have been thrown in the trashcan. And what's with those things they called fangs again? Fake plastic toy fangs look more real than that! Seriously, what were they thinking when they made this? True Blood is an embarassment to HBO, the show's crew, and every vampire standing on earth.

I've read all of the Sookie Stackhouse books Charlaine Harris has published so far and I LOVED them to bits. So I was really excited, when I heard they were making a TV-show.... but oh, was I disappointed.


I watched the first few episodes thinking that it'd probably get better and of course waiting for Eric...


but it is possibly on of the most boring shows ever created. Vampires are hardly important in this drab little redneck town, where nothing seem to happen except.. sex, sex and .. more sex.


Sometimes I felt like I was watching softporn and not a tv-show. ):


And they made all those big changes in the storyline, it can really only be called 'based on the books'. Tara working at Merlotte's, the whole demon-mother crap, Jason's weird girlfriend and whatnot.


So, I really really tried watching this, but it is so awful that my whole view on the series (books, too) has been warped and I don't even want to read the next one. ):

This show is lame, the script is poor, plot weak and acting feeble. I was hoping for more, check out the far superior "being human", This one should never have made at all.





The heroine of the story is just plain irritating, and her "best friend" isn't any better.





The idea of vampires living side by side with humans isn't origional either, it has been done numerous times before.





The whole idea never gets of the ground. If anything needs to be put out of it's semi-dead misery it's this show. In conclusion I will say that this is possibly the worst thing I have seen all year.

I've read all the Charlaine Harris books upon which this series is based - and I'm a fan of them. So when I heard the series was being made I was excited about bringing the characters to live. Even when I heard that Anna Pacquin was going to be Sookie I was prepared to give it a shot - I know she's a great actress but I she didn't immediately seem the right choice to me.





Having seen this now, I'm really disappointed. Unfortunately this series just shows that not all great books translate well onto the screen - silver or small. I'm sticking with the original books and my imagination.

The True Blood website was great, the ads leading up to the show were great, but the opening scene of the series should have alerted me to what became a trend in the show- cheap attempts to gain viewership by putting (over) sexual situations on the screen. I didn't read any Sookie Stackhouse novels, nor will I. What could have been a sharply written and sometimes humorous take on Vampires coming out in the open has instead become fodder for adolescent goth larping vampire wannabe's wet dreams.





Save your time, and find old episodes of Moonlight to watch. While not stellar, even it was a better show than True Blood.





Better yet, get a white plastic fork, break off two prongs, and insert them into your upper lip like two fangs. Now go look at yourself in the mirror. Congratulations, you have approximated the special effects seen in the first 10 minutes of the series.

Bad Bad worst vampire show on the air waves. This show has little story line if any, I mean really whats it supposed be a red neck town who are all really stupid or sex crazed oh and the so called vampires are also out of the closed and when the story starts to waver lets throw a sex scene in then a few words and another sex scene a few more words and another sex scene and on it goes. I got to the third episode and could not watch anymore, Moonlight is 100 times better than this vampire show bring back Moonlight it beats this show hands down.

Ive never really understood why people watch vampire shows but I had nothing better to do and it was in HD so what the hell. Where do I begin? Complete rubbish is what I would call it. Some girl who works in a bar and can for some reason hear peoples thoughts encounters a vampire.


Lets hold on a second. If you can read peoples thoughts then why are you working in a bar?


why dont you go and make a million dollars at poker and then lie in bed all day?


Apart from this nonsense, the other characters in the show dont really have any need to be there. Their scenes dont really amount to anything and all they appear to do is have sex a lot and thats about it. All I could think of while watching this mess was, how did the maker of something like six feet under decided that he wanted to make a show about vampires having sex?


Dont waste your time people, even if it is in HD.

Its very rare that I leave a bad review but the last season of True Blood was nothing but a huge let down after a long year of waiting. I thought that with all the extra time they would've come back with a dynamic season but I was wrong. What I want to know is why shows like Burn Notice, CSI, and Law and Order who have nonstop action and amazing plots can come back after a small 2-3 month break with another explosive season but yet True Blood with little to no action and a horrible plot takes an entire year to come back with another disappointing season?

The book is good, alan ball is talentuous (six feet under is The masterpiece!!) but the first episode of True Blood is very disappointing. The heroin appears as a real tart, naive, not as the Sookie i read about, who is quite a funny girl and has ideas to stand for. The additionals bits and caracters added for the show, well, i didn't get what's the point of that; it is not even funny, just embarrassing.





Don't misunderstandng me, i like sexy things and i like vampires... but this scene about sex in the kitchen, well... Didn't get it.





Come on someone, do something, it could have been such a good thing to watch!! I read the book when I heard of the new serie coming up; Being a real fan of Six feet under, I had no doubts it would be fab, but .. Well i think i am going to cry.

I don't get why so many people absolutely adore this show. It's not the worst show in the world, don't get me wrong, but it is far from the best. Sex, violence, and drugs in abundance are probably the only saving grace for this show. Everybody enjoys watching that kind of stuff, but if that is all a show offers then it is a huge waste of time. Some parts of the show are just so ridiculous that you feel embarrassed for the actors and writers. I remember Anna Paquin was quite good in Almost Famous, but in this show she is just plain annoying and cheesy. I have watched every single episode thus far (not of my own will) and I'm still wondering what the hell the big deal is.

I saw the first episode and made me sick ... if I were one of the directors of this film production (Scott Winant / Alan Ball), I do not know if I was ever able to appear in public places, I'd be too ashamed. If you want to watch this show, please do not! It is a waste of time. My opinion is that this show was done with a very low budget and casting crew without responsibility, fresh and original ideas

i watched the complete 1st season & i couldn't believe how terrible it was. who wrote this crap?? ok, i can accept things in a show's mythology within reason there are vampires & artificial blood. vampire blood has drug-like properties like lsd but 1 drop gives you an erection but when a show can't follow it's own rules, i get annoyed. an entire vial of it somehow doesn't make you hallucinate?? you don't overdoes on it? it just gives you a priapism?? that was incredibly stupid. if it's a drug it should act like a drug. what about tara's mom? wow, what a stupid subplot "i got a demon inside me!!" but she doesn't, it was just a scam, sure she could have quit cold turkey through belief but tara's mom would have died from alcohol withdrawal. it was so stupid. oh, my favorite piece of stupidity: "i'm a shapeshifter", not "i'm a werewolf & we hate vampires" like every other vampire mythos. no, i'm a shapeshifter. so suddenly in this world, there are vampires, telepaths & shape shifters. what's next? aliens, zombies? god, i miss blood ties.

ok. at first this show was pretty decent, Vampires are known to the world. Sookie was interesting because of her ability. And Bill was actually cool. But it just lost its suave to me. When Im watching it now, my hand just reaches for the remote control and I change the channel. It just lost its mystery. and showing Tara doing lovey dovey with her man, just isnt working. She looks like a She-Man. Why couldn't they hire someone with atleast have a hot bod. I feel like this show will be going down the drain soon. and now, they're adding more monsters other than the vampires. Why are they always showing the news about Vampire Rights and etc if that's not even the main concern about the story. Like I said, True Blood is swaying further and further from where it should be.

I'm a big fan of vampire shows (Angel,Moonlight) and i can see that this show is NOTHING like what we are used to. Definitely for an adult audience as it is a lot more in your face and grittier than the other shows. It'll have to keep its current late night time slot if they continue to use such graphic sex scenes. Personally i was bitterly disappointed with the characters, I just don't believe Sookie's character and her best friend is down right annoying. I also had a hard time believing that a human woman and human man could overpower a vampire that easily, but I realize that this show is trying to redefine the vampire universe we are used to and give it its own parameters so I'm going to give it another couple of episodes and see how it goes.

I'm not sure why there are so many BLIND fans of this show? Yes, the sex and violence has its appeal as the reputation of HBO is known for, but the writing on this show is absolutely dreadful. I liked some of the characters from the previous seasons, so i tried to let the poor writing slide and be entertained, but I found myself rolling my eyes more times that enjoying the show. I have a bunch of friends who admit this season wasn't good, but they will watch regardless. I wish people would be more honest with their reviews because praising this show only means you'll get more of the same garbage from the writers. I was really disappointed with this season, and I'll nly give them two episodes next season before I bail for good.

Believe me, that's not what I wanted. I wanted and still do want to like this show. Instead I find less and less I like about it. I don't find the Bill/Sookie relationship erotic or romantic. Really, in the last episode, was Sookie making love to Bill's arm like a teenager practicing kissing erotic or Bill licking blood off her forehead? - eewwww! I am put off more and more by the beginning images - What is the purpose of all the dead animals?





Most of it would be fine if they would tone down all the gratuitous sex. Do I really need to see Sookie masturbating while thinking about Bill - not once but twice!? Is there any other sex than rough, bondage kinky sex? You wouldn't know it by watching True Blood. I'm not opposed to sex/lovemaking but I really do like for it to have some bearing on moving the plot forward. The sex here is nothing more that poor filler. How any woman would want to mess around with Jason is in itself amazing. He's neither charming or likable and less so with each episode.





I have to wonder about Bill's character given the friends he associates with. These are the typical, old-fashioned horror vampires and I was never attracted to that anyway. Personally, I find Bill more creepy than romantic. Am I looking forward to the next episode? No


Will I probably watch it on HBO? No, don't get it. I'll watch it online somewhere.


Will I watch it? Yes, I'll give it a couple more episodes anyway but its going to have to get a lot better than this.!

Before I watched the pilot I read all that information about this TV show on tv.com. So I decided that I need to give a try. After first episode - no regrets, but during the second one... it was something creepy and something that I didn't like and something that I couldn't understand. In fact, after the second episode I have no interest to continue to watch it, because it kinda bored me and I'm really sorry about that time that I lost watching and not enjoying this vampire show. I'll be very critical but I don't like the actors' work, because if I can't feel these positive vibes that I need to see and feel.

Season 5 was totally boring do the season it was not so good as i was accept so please find out what you gonna make better at season 6

So my friends were all over this show and bragging about how great it is and how exciting and thrilling the show is. They made me sit down and forced me into watching couple of its episode from season 1. My impression of this show before watching was that it would be the same old drama about the vampires and werewolves and how they dont get along. Surprisingly the show was interesting and is kinda thrilling for what its worth, but im not a vampire and werewolves fan so id say that this show is not for me and i would not watch it.





Im sure may of you will disagree on me, but for me this shows doesnt work.

I will not say that this show is awful, but I will say it really isn't my kind of show. I've seen enough vampire movies and television shows in my life that the theme of this one makes it seem old. That said, there is some decent acting in this series and the storylines are somewhat okay. From the very few parts of the show I have seen, I must admit that it really isn't as boring as one would think at first glance. Overall, this is just an average show in my opinion, and I must say it doesn't interest me. Thank you.

I am really disappointed with Season 5. Jason is suppoed to be a Werepanther, Tera does Not become a vampire, because later in one of the books she is pregnant. Can't be pregnant if you're dead. Just the entire seaso is wrong. Now they have Jason with some kind of psychological problem? This is not how I imagined Season 5. I Love True Blood, I always will, bu you guys have to do something.

but The Thing is Season 5 were Kinda a Weak Comparing to Season 3 and 4 besides for those who read the Books isn't Jason was suppose to become a Were-panther ?

well i am not complaining or anything but i believe they got so much to do in season 6 in order to fix all the drops which happened in Season 5

I started watching this show at the beginning of summer due to the fact that there really isn't anything on between June and September. The first 2 seasons were entertaining at best - I actually think I may have enjoyed them more than I should have because there was nothing else to watch. The show was campy in a good way and occasionally rather fun to watch. That being said, the third season was an extreme letdown, even for an already average show. I quit watching after episode 9 of this season because I really couldn't put up with it anymore. I read recaps of the episodes that I missed before watching the finale earlier this evening. I know I am going to get a ton of hate for this review, but I felt I needed to get this out. Individual Season ratings are as listed below:





Season 1 - A decent start to a campy and interesting series. Packed with interesting characters and never takes itself too seriously. Rating: 7/10





Season 2 - An interesting story arc and plenty of humour make this a welcome improvement on season 1. Rating: 8/10





Season 3 - A disappointment through and through. The concept was there but boring subplots and a weak story arc (If you can even call it an arc) make for a rather lacklustre season. Rating: 5/10

True Blood is just another "life-of-the-small-town" series. You have several main characters, a couple freaks and a vampire. They're havin sex, fighting, eating, sleeping and do a bunch of talking. Nothing special. Any other latest vampire-related series like Moonlight or New Amsterdam is way better. The vampire line is sooooo weak. You have a mediocre guy with non-attractive face which just hangs around and bangs an X-Men girl who can read thoughts. Almost nothing happens in the city and even when some granny died writers had to make it a half-episode drama.





For now True Blood is VERY boring. I'll probably quit watching it.

True blood is a new vampire series with an interesting premise; the vampires are coming out to society. The title True Blood refers to a synthetic blood by the same name that allows them to live without harming humans. Sounds interesting right? Well it might be but the pilot is slow paced very slow. I watched the pilot wanting it to be good. I was disappointed. I haven't written the show off yet though. It still has great potential and maybe they intended it to start slowly. HBO generally makes some good series like The Soprano's so I'm willing to give true blood a few episodes to see if they capitalize on the potential of the premise they set up and I think you should as well.

Being a fan of any and all vampire shows that have existed (RIP Moonlight and Buffy) I was extremely excited to watch this show. I however, was quite disappointed with alot of it. The accents were not great, and I thought the acting was a bit cheesy and the theme music that came on every time Bill came into the picture was a bit strange. I felt as though they should have gone into a little more about Sookie and why she can hear people's thoughts and how tough her childhood must have been to be able to do so. There needs to be a little more character development. I will continue to watvh the show and hope that it gets better because I really like the concept of a "vampire friendly" society.

It wasn't bad and it definitely leaves you wanting to see what happens next. The actors were okay slightly believable but occasionally annoying especially the brother and the friend. Besides the beginning which was intense it wasn't until half way through that i was incouraged to pay attention. Looking forward to the next episode. I do hope that the main character (silky, wow what a name) stays interesting becuase She is a good actress ive seen her in other things before and i love her. Grandma from Twister was good too. :) Special thanks to the writers on this one the dialog definitely flows the right way.

I'm not sure this series will last long. The first episode didn't really explain too much, you pretty much had to figure out what was going on, and how they came to this situation where vampires walk around with humans. I think they have a good plot, but it needs some tuning and more history on why the vampire situation has come to be. The second episode has allot of explaining to do to keep my interest in wanting to tune in for more. The characters and acting was pretty good. I will tune in for the second episode to see where this is going.
