Episode Summary

Sookie finds a connection to the murders in Bon Temps. Jason finds a new goal in life. Bill tempts fate, continuing to find a way to rescue Sookie from harm. Sam is troubled by a familiar face from his past.

The end of season One.

Damned!

12 episodes is much to short to make a fully appreciable season.
Although this is a well made series (unusual but almost perfect cast, good writing, camp galore and beautiful (naked) men and girls), the ending is not that satisfying : suddenly an unnoticed B-role is a serial killer and 'young' Jason Stackhouse sees the LIGHT, but leaves me utterly unconvinced.
I can't even remember what happened to Lafayette!?
Also, Sam's shape-shifting mystery was revealed to early, but, clues are set in place to make a second promising chapter, with appetizing new characters that will be thrown in the Bon Temps Mix.
And what a juicy cocktail this series is. So, send on season two.
Come-on, I'm waiting......moreless

Too Pretty to Be Locked Up: A Jason Stackhouse Story

With Jason unsure as to how he may or may not have killed Amy the killer's identity is revealed, but I won't do it although you should know by now he leaves his truck to Rene and Tara is locked up for drunk driving and left to rot thanks to Lettie Mae but let out by a mysterious stranger named Maryann Forster who takes an interest in her well being. Sookie does combat with the killer whilst Bill attempts to help her by walking in to the sun after her and it all comes to a startling conclusion and Jason gets a surprise visit from a member of the Fellowship of the Sun and decides to convert after what he's witnessed. Great ending to a who-done-it season drama with vamps galore, plenty of blood, sex, drugs, anything you can think of. But the real winner is the ending of this episode that ties everything up and then picks up about 3 weeks later and leaves no illusion about where the characters are headed next season and surely proves that even though it's based on a book series and has to somewhat follow the story it shows the writers aren't just making it up as they go.moreless

I was looking forward to the finale like everyone else but was disappointed to find out how messy the ending was, jumped around a lot and left out scenes I thought would be shoved in the finale...Maybe that's what I get for reading the books...on the 4th one right now...I am still truly addicted to these series and will have to wait till next Summer to see how they carry on more. Long live Sookie, Eric, Bill and all the other crazy super naturals that are thrown into this story!!! Overall...I..LOVE..TRUE BLOOD! Until then, I will curl up w/my books and wait anxiously like everyone else...moreless

Well, I appreciate that there was very little of the lead dead man in this episode, and indeed, in the last couple, as I really think they should figure out a way to get rid of that actor. Aside from that, I'm a bit disappointed. I felt like they rushed to wrap a pretty bow around the mystery of the season, after largely ignoring it most of the time in most of the episodes. I'm not really one for the overarching plot lines that turn most series into serials these days, but if you're gonna do it, do it right, not just at the beginning of the season and the end of the season.moreless

The killer is revealed and dealt with by Sookie, Sam, and Bill. Tara is now living with Mary-Ann who seems to be an acquaintance of Sam's from his past. Jason is let out of jail and finds a new calling. Lafayette disappears.moreless

Nicely done final episode and set up for next season. The killer story for the first season is wrapped up in a nice package with Sookie finally doing the deed with help from Sam and Bill. Sam helps Sookie keep Bill alive when he is burned really bad coming out in the daytime to assist her when she was in danger. It was a combination of the three of them who stopped Renee in the end.

Sam, Tara, and Lafayette are all there to comfort Sookie after the ordeal and we are wondering if Bill will really be OK. Jason is released from prison but not before Ori Dawson from a religious organization meets with him and tries to recruit him.

We see Lafayette attacked but not who did it and then he disappears and no one hears from him. You are led to believe it is Bill who did it, but who knows for sure until or if it is revealed.

Eric and his assistant drop Jessica off with Bill after their failed attempt to control her. It seems she is now Bill's problem which could be quite bothersome going forward.

The season ends with a body being found in the back of Detectives Bellefleur's car. I can't wait for next season. Should be fun!
