Plot details for season 2 of True Detective have been revealed as well as casting rumors linking Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch, Elizabeth Moss and Vince Vaughn.

The Vince Vaughn rumor really bothers me.

He's decent enough in comedies, but not really a drama actor. Admittedly, the only serious roles I saw him attempt was in The Cell and the Psycho remake, but neither inspired any confidence for me.

Here are the details that have been revealed:

“The second season of True Detective will follow the death of Ben Caspar, the corrupt City Manager of a fictional California city who’s found brutally murdered amidst a potentially groundbreaking transportation deal that would forever change the freeway gridlock in California.

Three law enforcement officers from different cities and branches of the government are tasked with finding out who did it. They soon discover their investigation has much broader and darker implications than they initially thought.

Caspar’s 52-year-old corpse is found on a lonely stretch of the PCH near Big Sur - his eye burned out, genitals cut off and satanic symbols etched on his chest. It turns out he had a penchant for rough sex and may have been involved in the occult.”

To make thing clear, there are 5 roles to cast - three law enforcement officers from different cities:

Ray Velcoro - a bent cop.

Ani Bezzerides - tough, no-nonsense female sheriff.

Paul Woodrugh - a military vet who works for the Highway Patrol.

There is also the protagonist role of Frank Semyon - former thug-turned-businessman connected to the Mayor.

And the victim, City Manager Ben Caspar.

It would seem Caspar is the only character whose age is mentioned, so bear that in mind.

Now, who would you cast?

Ray Velcoro - ???

Ani Bezzerides - ???

Paul Woodrugh - ???

Frank Semyon - ???

Ben Caspar - ???
