  • After a fairly good premiere, comes this greatly written episode! I believe the writers did a great job creating a vision for the audience about each character! No show has ever been that stable on it's first two-episode run!moreless

FUNNY, ORIGINAL, and well-written! I believe the writers did a great job creating a vision for the audience about each character! Almost no show has ever been that stable on it's first two-episode run!

In two episodes, we were able to spot some of each character's weaknesses; we know that Sarah is somewhat a burden, Conner is the rushy-womanizing kind of guy, and Mason is the supposedly smart and happily married man, who gets panicky trying to get it all right, specially after getting promoted to CD!

"Thumbthing" is telling me this show will be big! I love how all of this is taking place in an advertising agency

I definitely will be tuning in every week!moreless
  • Looks like there won't be any boats in Mason when he's promoted but denied a raise. Last weeks triumph with Arc Mobile turns out to be a bust when their tag line tanks with focus groups. Will Mason and Conner be able to do thumbthing about it?moreless

It's Conner to the rescue when an important client shoots down an advertising pitch. As the new pitch settles in, trouble arises which may put Mason on the unemployment line. Too bad Conner actually gives Mason a line he accidentally stole from a potential employee for the company, Chip, who turns out to be a grade A A-hole (rather than just a douche). They try to hire the guy so that they can use his line 'Do Thumbthing' for the text messaging ad. When that doesn't work Conner and Mason get creative and tank the line with the help of Masons' wife Erin – Jack Bauer's evil lover from 24 Nina.

Sarah adds to the stress with a full-court press for her office and objections to Mason's choice of a partner for her (Chip). We see a little vulnerability in her, but its short lived and Monica Potter continues her reign as one of the most annoying actresses on network television. More Thoughts on 'All Hell The Victors':

    - Mason takes Stu's office which is his rightful place as the new creative director

    - Sarah and Mason seems to have a past of the making out variety that was hinted at (heavily) in this episode

Bottom line: Still loving the chemistry between McCormack and Cavanaugh, I hope it's enough to keep viewers interested until it builds viewers

Next Week: Denise the head honcho comes in to see what's up with Mason and his team

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Mason: Masturbation. Focus groups that the tagline, 'what can you do with one hand?' is about masturbation.

    • Conner: OK, how 'bout this? How 'bout this? 'Do thumbthing.'
Mason: How about this? You're the writer. You do something!
Conner: No, no. Not 'something'. Thumbthing. Two words. First word 'thumb'. 'Do thumbthing.'

    • Conner: (about coming up with the ArcMobile campaign tagline) Stealing is a conscious act. This is some kind of a subconscious, unconscious, psychic phenomena. I did not steal it.

    • Chip Lyons: I'm kinda like this whole package of awesome. Uh, art director. Not afraid to write my own stuff. And you put me with the right partner, I could sell venereal disease to nuns.

    • Mason: Chip isn't such a douche.
Conner: No. He's more of a classic asshole.

  • NOTES (0)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • Sarah: You're joking right? That's a joke. Am I in Candid Camera?

Candid Camera was a long-running ABC reality comedy show wherein a hidden camera tapes ordinary people while practical jokes and pranks are played on them.

    • Conner: With great power comes great responsibility.

This line is often attributed as spoken by Uncle Ben to his nephew Peter Parker in the Spider-Man comic and film adaptation.
