  • When Sakura, Syaoran, Fai and Kurogane arrive into strange country where survival is law, little do they know that the stay in there will change their lives...

"The Magician's Message" is an introductional OVA of "Tokyo Revelations" OVA series. The Group arrives from the Rekord country(Episode 42 of Season 2) into world called "Tokyo".

The concept of "Tokyo" is highly entertaining and its nice to see CLAMP expand their apocalyptic thoughts future we have seen in Clover and X.

The world full of mutated beasts, acid rain and two groups of people fighting for most precious thing there - Water. It really brings out the concept of "eye for eye" and the human aspects of war. The world is reduced to a few groups of people and yet they fight for survival. This clash made it even more interesting

That said, while the world is quite interesting, this introduction really brought out the personalities of characters there. Finally Fai's VA has shown more emotion than his usual "happy go lucky" side and Kurogane got a fight sequence fitting of his character. I was happy to see The characters from X(although not the same ones) yet again, and even though most of them did not get that much of screen time, I felt that they still retained their characters from X/1999, thanks to an outstanding job of VA's.

That said, I thoroughly enjoyed this OVA1( And A lot more than I enjoyed the tv series). The animation quality was at its best, beating anything the 52 episodes of anime had to offer.

I was pleasantly surprised that Production I.G adapted the character designs as they should be.

The other outstanding thing is music. Kajiura Yuki did an outstanding job yet again. We got a nice remixes of her old songs and great new composition at the "Tube Escape" scene.

I would recommend this for anyone who got disappointed with original series. It might renew your interest as it did with me.moreless
  • Syaoran and crew arrive in Tokyo and, being driven indoors by means of acidic rain, meet Kamui and friends! While meeting new enemies, Sakura is told by a mysterious voice that she needs to wake up, and a Syaoran "look alike" is awakened!moreless

Ohh. My. Gosh. This episode was great! It starts from when they left Record Country (since the Chaos arc was just a filler). I LOVED how they began to tie up all the loose ends, but still leave it untied enough so that you keep reading! (or in this case, watching. =__=;;) The episode would leave non-manga readers dying to know what's happening, but if you're up-to-date with the manga, you already know what Kuro-tan and Fai are talking about when Kurogane says, "You need to put your past behind you," or something like that. This is a must-see for all Tsubasa fans! :Dmoreless
