Turbo Teen

Show Summary

Brett Matthews was just an ordinary teenager with a hot sports car until one stormy night, an accident caused him to crash into a laboratory where scientists were testing a fusion ray. Brett and his car were hit by a beam and as a result, the two merged into one. Though Brett still appeared normal, whenever he was exposed to heat, he would change into car form as he has now become the revved-up Turbo Teen. As Turbo Teen, Brett could drive himself into various adventures and be capable of performing various stunts as he battled a number of villains who were a threat to the innocent. Only when exposed to cold, frigid temperatures would Turbo Teen return to teenage boy Brett. Along for the ride are those who know Brett's secret, his girlfriend Pattie and his best friend Alex, who has good mechnical skills, handy whenever Turbo Teen sustains any damage or just needs a tuneup. But Brett also has a constant enemy in the form of the evil Dark Rider, a mysterious, mostly unseen figure who drives a large truck and seeks to get Turbo Teen in hopes of learning his secret and controlling him for whatever evil purposes he had in mind. It was vital for the gang that this not happen and they could capture the elusive Dark Rider. But most times, the gang try to be normal teenagers as they go to school and listen to their favorite tunes of the mid-1980's, a number of which were heard in this Knight Rider and MTV-inspired series. Among the songs heard on the show were Beat It (by Michael Jackson), Heart of Rock & Roll (by Huey Lewis and the News), and I'm So Excited (by the Pointer Sisters), and several other 80's hits played in each episode. Turbo Teen aired for one season on ABC from 1984-85.moreless
