Although no time line is given, Julie is sent back to earth on the day when the newspaper headline is NIXON RESIGNS. Richard M. Nixon resigned the Presidency of the United States of America on on August 9, 1974.
In the opening credits, Jephthah is incorrectly spelled as Jepthah.
Mr. Jones: Sometimes you have to be lost before you can be found.
Jephthat: How does the defendant plead?
Mr. Jones: Not guilty, your Honor.
Julie: I haven't done anything.
Jael: That is precisely the charge, your Honor, not doing anything.
(referring to the name she is sent back under: Mildred)
Julie: I mean out of all the names, you couldn't come up with anything better than that?
Mr. Jones: Yeah, I flipped a coin, Mildred won. Beat Gertrude three out of five!
Julie: Why did Jephthah give me a life sentence? Why did he allow me to come back?
Mr. Jones: Remember the day in court you stepped forward and spoke up for yourself loud and clear "I want to go back" and, in that moment, you did something. You took a firm stand.
Julie: That did it?
Mr. Jones: Everyone is different, every situation unique. If Jane Doe said the same thing, it might be meaningless. But for the Julie of that time and place, it was a very significant act. Jephthah and God recognized that.
