I think this episode could have easily been called The Gift of Love because in the end, it was all about love and kindness.

Jenny earned a second chance because Judge Othniel saw the loving and kind person she was even when she couldn't see it in herself.

Nick Parnell stopped to help Karen with her flat tire and she responded by offer to buy him lunch.

Jenny's mom, when confronted about the secret she had been keeping from the kids, didn't make excuses for her behavior but said she had done what was easy and not was was right and had acted selfish. She lovingly hugged her daughter and apologized.

Dr. Lantz loved enough to get on a plane twice to fly to Canada to confront Dan Russell about his selfish behavior and, along with Jenny, convinced him to do the right thing.

Lastly Wendy, dying of leukemia, lovingly put on a brave front to her family so that they would be able to better bear the situation.

The main message I took away from the show was that we need to learn to accept the love that we give to others because we are worthy of it also.moreless

    • Judge Othniel: Oh, Jenny, you don't know the truth, you don't even know yourself. You even went into the fashion trade just as a way to dress up, becoming some fictional persona. Edit
    • Jenny Parnell: Did you bring me here to insult me? Judge Othniel: Well, I'm sorry if it seems that way, but it's time you realized that when you refused to know your father, you made it impossible to ever know yourself. Edit
    • Jenny Parnell: If I'm so flawed, why am I even here? Judge Othniel: Because you're a good person, Jenny. You're very kind but never to yourself and rarely to your family. Edit
