When Jenna confronts her parents about stripping away all signs of her individuality, Julie says that she herself was made to remove her earrings. However, when Jenna woke up she was still wearing two rings on her right hand. Throughout the episode she is seen still wearing rings and earrings.
In the close-up of Jenna before she's put in the truck, the other Winslows follow and stand behind her to watch. In the next shot when Jenna is thrown inside, the Winslows walk up to the truck again.
Host: (closing narration) The Winslows have finally taken back control of their family, but it cost them one teenage daughter - a deal brokered only in The Twilight Zone.
Host: (opening narration) Meet the Winslows: A family searching for a way to control their troubled teen. How far they're willing to go will take them to a gated community whose address can only be found in The Twilight Zone.
An episode of The X-Files (season 6) titled, interestingly enough, "Arcadia," revolved around several residents who had recently disappeared after failing to comply with the rules and regulations of the community they lived in. The synopsis of this episode is essentially the same, and "Arcadia" was the name on the side of the truck that took Amber Tamblyn's character away.
Interestingly enough, a year later in Amber Tamblyn's show, Joan of Arcadia, she goes to Arcadia High School.
Note the reference to "Maple Street", a possible allusion to the original TZ episode "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street".
This was the premiere episode, although it wasn't the first episode to be produced (that was "The Lineman (1)").
