Leo speaks to Bobby about "new shoes." Audrey confronts her father about One Eyed Jacks. Shelly tells Norma she has to quit working at the Double R. Norma sees the changed Nadine for the first time. Bobby finds evidence to blackmail Ben Horne for a sizeable sum. Audrey goes to Cooper about her father, leading Truman and Cooper to arrest Ben. Tojamora reveals his true identity to Pete. The Log Lady brings Cooper to the Roadhouse, where the Giant appears. Late in the evening, Laura's killer strikes again...

Laura's killer finally revealed

This was one of the most shocking episodes ever, and that is saying a lot. There are numerous unexpected major plot twists that seem to pile up as the episode progresses. Laura's killer is finally revealed at the end in one of the most frightening and disturbing sequences I have ever seen and heard on tv. When I first saw this episode, I was shocked in a good way that the writers revealed the identity of her killer so early on in the second season. It really came out of nowhere, although there are little hints dropped at the beginning of this episode once Cooper, Truman, and Hawk recover Laura's secret diary. Plus, 2 characters die. The Giant, the Log Lady, and Bob all make appearances that really increase the tension and suspense, as well as freak the audience out.moreless

  The murder scene was filmed three times (Much to the dismay of Sheryl Lee!) to protect the secret of who killed Laura Palmer from leaking to the public.

David Lynch and Mark Frost had told Richard Beymer that he was NOT the real killer, and he has said in interviews he had a lot of trouble filiming the brutal murder sequence.
