This episode takes place on: Thursday, March 9.
When David Lynch visits the chat rooms at DavidLynch.com, he always types in all capital letters, as if simulating the LOUD speaking voice of his Gordon Cole character.
*WARNING: SPOILER INFO*
The murder scene was filmed three times (Much to the dismay of Sheryl Lee!) to protect the secret of who killed Laura Palmer from leaking to the public.
It was shot once with Richard Beymer (Ben Horne) as the killer, then again with Ray Wise (Leland) and finally with Frank Silva (Killer BOB). David Lynch and Mark Frost had told Richard Beymer that he was NOT the real killer, and he has said in interviews he had a lot of trouble filiming the brutal murder sequence.
Log Lady intro:
A poem as lovely as a tree:
As the night wind blows, the boughs move to and fro.
The rustling, the magic rustling that brings on the dark dream.
The dream of suffering and pain.
Pain for the victim, pain for the inflicter of pain.
A circle of pain, a circle of suffering.
Woe to the ones who behold the pale horse.
The Giant: It is happening again. It is happening again.
Gordon Cole: HEADIN' ON OVER TO BEND, OREGEON. WHOLE LOTTA SHAKIN' GOING ON IN BEND!
Neilson Rating: 10.4/20, Number 50 for the week.
In this episode, Julee Cruise sings "Rockin' Back Inside My Heart" and "The World Spins"
Instead of the usual end credits, this episode features a picture of Cooper and the red curtains while Julee Cruise sings "The World Spins"
A.K.A. "Lonely Souls"
Kimmy Robertson and Joan Chen do not appear in this episode.
The White Horse:
Sarah Palmer has a vision of a white horse shortly before a terrible incident occurs in her house.
This is most likey an alluision to the Book of Revelations in the Holy Bible: "And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was death, and hell followed with him". -- Revelation 6:7
