  • Charlie tells Chelsea he loves her and he gets his own "Thank you" response back. Predictably he freaks out and regaining balance in his relationship becomes his concern. Great scenes with the Psychiatrist and your standard proposal in a restaurant.moreless

Great episode dealing with Charlies relationship phobias.

Charlie tells Chelsea he loves her and she reacts the same way he usually does when someone tells him that with a "Thank you". Of course he freaks out and discusses the situation with Alan and Berta who don't make him feel any better about things.

Charlie goes to see his Psychiatrist (Jane Lynch played Dr. Linda Freeman) and the session is the same great banter that ensues every time he meets with her. I am surprised she does not have a regular role in a show of her own. She is one of the funniest character actresses in Hollywood. Charlie ends up proposing to Chelsea, ring and all, to bring "balance" to their relationship and sort of makes his a fool out of himself. Alan comes off as the normal brother which is always a nice twist.

You can see Chelsea swallowing the ring from a mile away and the ensuing parts of the episode that follow. It was cute at the end when Chelsea says how wonderful the ring is through the bathroom door.

I like that they are exploring Charlies relationship phobias and I look forward to the coming episodes with Chelsea played by Jennifer Taylor. I always enjoy the scenes with James Edson as well who plays Bobby the waiter at Charlies favorite nice restaurant.

Overall another enjoyable episode leaving me waiting for more.

    Thanks for reading...moreless
  • Charlie wants an I love you from Chelsea.

    8.0
Not enough Alan in this episode for my liking, as one could argue he has been even funnier than Charlie this season. They also went a little heavy on the sex and "poop" jokes, but outside of that there were few bad moments this week, in fact the entire CBS comedy lineup, outside of How I Met Your Mother, was very good tonight.

I like the recently added Chelsea character, but I am also torn because I do not want to see Charlie ever get married. I think that is best for the series finale, if ever, as him being a bachelor is such a key part of this show.moreless
  • Charlie says the L word

    8.5
More of a Charlie centric episode, this one did maintain the reading on the comedy meter. Charlie proposes his love to Chelsea after sex, and find himself shocked when she responds with a 'thank you'. Wanting to get even, he decides to ask her to marry him, that way he could restore the power balance. However, things go awry when Charlie slips the ring into Chelsea's glass and she dunks the champagne along with the ring. Nevertheless, Charlie with his smooth ways makes her say that she loves him. We don't get to see a lot of Alan and Jake in this episode, but nevertheless this dint fail to deliver the laughs. Berta had some classic lines that made the in between parts even more fun to watch.

    All in all - a typical 2 1/2 men episode.moreless
