    • QUOTES (7)

      • Pete: Okay team, let's get 'em!
        Melissa: Woo hoo! Celtics!
        (Melissa holds up her hands)
Pete: Wearing green fingernail polish, that's a start. All right!
Sharon: Okay! I'm wearing green panties.
        Pete: Yeah!

      • Melissa: Well, today, we learned all about the letter B. We baked bread, we studied butterflies, the student of the day was Billy Bumstead.
Sharon: Oh, well, I learned all about the letter S today. That I'm the self serving sellout, who's giving our environment a super sly drink, all for a sports car and a salary.

      • Sharon: You know, I envy you.
        Melissa: Yeah, right.
Sharon: No, I'm serious. I mean, you wake up every morning looking forward to your job.
Melissa: Yeah, for the most part.
Sharon: You come home everyday feeling good about yourself.
        Melissa: I try.
Sharon: You make a difference in kids lives.
        Melissa: I make $18,000 a year.
        Sharon: Ewww!

      • Pete: I have a bad feeling about this.
Berg: You had a bad feeling about shopping-cart polo.
Pete: Yeah, and I broke my wrist.
Berg: Yeah, and you met a nurse.

      • Sharon: Who asked you to steal my hairdryer?
Berg: Who asked you to take it back?
        Sharon: I washed my hair!

      • Pete: We're playing the Bulls!
Berg: The Celtics are playing the Bulls. You...didn't make the team.

      • (Sharon just found out about the stolen banner).
        Berg: She knows.
        Pete: She does?
        Berg: Act dumb.
        Pete: We are dumb.
        (They go over to Sharon).
        Sharon: Are you guys nuts?
Berg: I'm Nuts...this is my partner, Pretzels.
Pete: What seems to be the problem, ma'am?

    • ALLUSIONS (3)

      • Mr Bauer: I had a dream once, dance. I wanted so badly to join this one company, I could taste it. Sure enough, one thing lead to another, I got the audition of a lifetime.

This is an allusion to the romantic musical film Flashdance from 1983. The film tells the story of Alex, played by Jennifer Beals, who works as an exotic dancer at night, and at a steel mill during the day, and her dream to become a dancer at a prestigious academy.

      • Berg: (about Mr Bauer) Is it just me, or is he dancing like he's never danced before.

This is an allusion to the song Maniac by Michael Sembello, which was featured in the movie Flashdance.

      • Mr Bauer: It was me and the Nazis in a race against time. The future of mankind depended on me retrieving the Ark of the Covenant.

This is an allusion to the 1981 adventure film Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark by Steven Spielberg. In the movie Harrison Ford plays the archaeologist Indiana Jones who is hired to find the Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis acquire it.
