I have been revisiting the old episodes recently, and it is incredibly disappointing that there aren't any more episodes. You feel so empty after watching the last episode, because in all seriousness, there was SO much more of a story to tell with these characters, and it makes no sense whatsoever why they canceled it. Kevin and Carrie's storyline was nowhere near complete - heck, it didn't even have a chance to really start! Mary-Kate and Ashley were also very likable here, which didn't always happen with most of their roles, but in this case, they were funny and did an excellent job with the comedy. Watching them grow into teenagers on the show would have been cool, and the cast worked so well together, it's almost tragic that they ended it so soon.
The only reason I can come up with is that maybe the Olsens just didn't want to continue...or maybe their agents or whatever wanted to push for them to move on to something else. Back then, Mary-Kate and Ashley were like a brand in and of themselves, with their clothing line and everything, and coming off the huge success of Full House, it's possible that they didn't want to get heavily involved in another family sitcom. I honestly don't know. But if you ask me, this was the kind of show that could have lasted several years, like Full House, if the writing stayed as good as it was. It was funny and entertaining enough, that's for sure. It was a huge mistake not to give it another additional season or two, at the very least.
