Yeah, all they did was kiss. Just before Carrie caught her plane, Kevin said take care and that he would miss her. She got on the plane, came back, and kissed him. When he asked what that was for, she said "For everything," as in giving her a job, teaching her, and letting her be part of his family for the past year.
As for the episodes being reversed at the very end...that always confused me too. "Kevin Burke's Day Off" is the last episode they showed, but it was aired out of production order. "Goodbye Girl" was obviously intended to be the last one.
I have been enjoying this show on Youtube recently. Every single episode is posted there. I watch it on my iPod, and I I loveit so much. It is ridiculous that it didn't last for at least another season or two. Kevin and Carrie's relationship deserved more time to develop and maybe turn into something. Maybe more people didn't watch because it was Mary-Kate and Ashley, and they probably didn't think a show with them could be that good, but this was easily some of their best work. The script was well-written, it had a lot of great one-liners, the characters were likable, and the cast did a nice job. I will never understand why it was cut off so abruptly. It seems like the kind of series that had enough strength to get at LEAST one more season.
