    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (4)

      • Mary-Kate and Ashley also used a Halloween costume swap in a film they were in when they were little called "Double, Double, Toil and Trouble" where they starred as twins to free their Great Aunt Sophie from a moonstone so their parents can keep their house...

      • Eddie must have been really out of it not to notice "Mary-Kate" had shrunk about six inches after the switch. He should have also noticed because Max's hands weren't covered up, and Max, if im not mistaken, is a completely different shade than the twins.

      • How is that the kids were able to switch costumes so easily when they're obviously different sizes? Max is taller than the girls and Brian is much shorter, so why did it seem to be perfect fits when the outfits should be too small or too big?

      • When they are at Carrie's party and Carrie's in the Cleopatra costume, the fringe on her wig hat keep changing position from high-up to low-down and so on.

    • QUOTES (8)

      • Carrie: (telling Kevin to come to her party) Maybe you should come. You hardly ever get out.
Kevin: Carrie, don't start with me.
Carrie: I'm serious. When was the last time you went to a really great party?
Kevin: Couple of years ago.. at my uncle Rodney's funeral. (Carrie stares at him) Nobody really liked him.

      • Brian: (dressed in Ashley's pink Hallowen costume) Uh, Mr. Burke? Can I change into something before I go home? My mom already thinks it's weird that I don't want to be in Little League!

      • Mary-Kate: We'll give you all our candy if you switch costumes with us.
        Brian: Uh-uh, I don't play that game!

      • Mary-Kate: Anyway, which houses are giving out the best candy?
Taylor: Oh, well, we're not doing that. We're kind of old to be trick-or-treating.
Ashley: Oh, us, too. We're just trick-or-treating for the less fortunate. You know....candy-less kids!

      • Mary-Kate: So, what are you supposed to be?
        Taylor: I'm Jack from "Titanic."
Ashley: Oh, I love it! You know....people tell me I look a lot like Kate Winslet.
        Taylor: Whatever.

      • Woman: I think it's just the sweetest thing that you're taking the girls trick-or-treating.
Eddie: Please. Children are my life. I mean, plumbing is just an extremely profitable hobby.
Ashley: Eddie, can we please go now?
Eddie: Yes, whatever you want, Sunshine. Just give Uncle Eddie a few more minutes here.
        Mary-Kate: Sunshine?
Ashley: I think this is the first time I'm going to throw up before I eat any candy.

      • Carrie: (about Mary-Kate & Ashley) So....they lied to me?
Kevin: Join the club, they lied to me, too.
Carrie: Well, of course they lied to you--you're their dad. But I'm the young, hip babysitter!

      • Mary-Kate: Hey, dad, who invented Halloween?
        Kevin: Probably a dentist.

    • NOTES (0)

    • ALLUSIONS (5)

      • Brian: Just hand me a broomstick and call me Sabrina!
This is a reference to the television series Sabrina the Teenage Witch, with Melissa Joan Hart playing the title role.

      • Ashley: You know, people tell me I look a lot like Kate Winslet.

Kate Winslet is an actress who had the lead female role in the 1997 multi Oscar-winning hit Titanic, which was hugely popular at the time this episode aired.

      • Taylor dresses up as Jack Dawson, the hero from the 1997 film Titanic (who was portrayed by actor Leonardo DiCaprio). In this episode, Taylor briefly re-enacts the scene where Jack freezes to death in the Atlantic Ocean after the ship sinks, while hanging onto the side of what used to be a door on the ship.

      • Kevin: (to Eddie) Thank you, Colombo.
In reference to the series Colombo starring a detective portrayed by Peter Falk.

      • The title is an obvious allusion to the movie "A Nightmare on Elm Street."
