    • Thomas Shaaf: (Speaking about Werder Bremen reaching the Group Stage of Champions League) It is a special thing to reach the Champions League for the fourth year in a row, and it's been achieved despite our problems this season. I have to pay compliment to this team.

    • Peter Crouch: (On Liverpool's 4-0 win against Toulouse) It was a good night's work because it was very important we got through to the group stages. It was a good team performance and on a personal level it's good to get that first goal of the season. I was pleased to play tonight and delighted to get a goal. Hopefully I can keep doing that whenever I'm called upon. It was important we started the season well and that's the way it's gone. All the new guys seemed to have settled in well and if we continue to progress the way we have been doing we've got a great chance.

    • Rafa Benitez: (On Liverpool's 4-0 win against Toulouse) First of all I want to pay my condolences and respect to the family of Rhys Jones. As for the game, I am very happy with my team and we showed the strength and quality of our squad. We scored four good goals and could have scored a lot more. We now have two players for each position and everyone can see our squad is a lot stronger than it was before. It was good for Crouch and Kuyt to score and they both worked very hard for the team. It was also good for me as a manager to give Leto and Leiva their first games.

    • Dirk Kuyt: (On Liverpool's 4-0 win against Toulouse) I think I had enough chances to score maybe four goals, so I wasn't happy with that. In the end I am happy I scored twice, but I still have to do better.
