  • Quotes

    • Jose Mourinho: (Speaking after Chelsea's win against Valencia) It was a fantastic performance and they didn't have a chance, and we completely dominated in the 2nd half. It will be a difficult semi-final for us. We are competing in 3 competitions, Liverpool only in one.

    • Luciano Spaletti: (Speaking after Roma's loss to Manchester United) Perhaps we wanted to put the match in order too badly and too quickly, and we became unbalanced. In the first leg Manchester did not show the qualities they showed tonight. If I could go back in time I would just stay home. At some points I thought I was in a nightmare.

    • Rafa Benitez: (Speaking before the 2nd leg match against PSV) We know there have been comebacks from 3-0 down in the Champions League - we did it in Istanbul. These kind of games are difficult. Sometimes teams say "OK, the job is done". But we have to be careful. We know if they score an early goal they will push forward and we could have problems. We must approach the game the same as we did against Barcelona and try to win. We do not go into the game thinking a draw will be enough. We need to go for a win. Hopefully we will reach the semi-final of the Champions League and I hope we can be sure we are in the top four so we can concentrate on that.

    • Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson speaking about the 2nd leg against Roma.

Sir Alex Ferguson: It is finely balanced simply because they have got a lead and we have to get at them and get the goal which will change the game, if we get the goal it changes the game and they will have to come out and it will be interesting to see that.
