Well. we agree on all winners, not the score necessarily but still I believe Portugal, Germany, Holland and Spain will go through.

There is a strange thing thoug :

SPAIN vs ITALY : 22nd JUNE 2008 (baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad omen for Spain)

22nd JUNE 1986 : World Cup in Mexico. Spain vs Belgium. Spain gets beaten in penalty shootout.

22nd JUNE 1996 : Euro in England. Spain vs England. Spain gets beaten in penalty shootout.

22nd JUNE 2002 : World Cup in Korea. Spain vs N.Korea. Spain gets beaten in penalty shootout.

    You do the math

I think we will see some surprises. We have already seen Germany going ahead against Portugal.

And I have a feeling Russia will surprise everyone. The way they played against Sweden shows they can be a good bet against the Dutch

Germany are into the Semi-Final 3-2, Great Game. The difference I think was that Portugal didnt defend too well on the Set Pieces.

Yeah, what a thriller! Exciting till the last second!
I think both teams were great but in the end the Portuguese lacked that last bit of luck to keep the game going.

A very good match ... Germany rose up to the occasion and played great attacking wise. Ricardo left a lot to be desired.

Agreed. Ricardo should have done better. After all the crap that Lehmann spewed about Ricardo and his teammates, I thought that he would play with the fire he had in Germany '06. I originally bet on the Portugese, but I immediately started to worry after seeing their nervous faces during their anthem. Pepe was shaking, and Ronaldo looked close to tears. The major difference is that Portugal left their shooting boots at home and weren't focused on defending during freekicks. It's a shame 'cause they could have won. Germany left plenty of holes in their box that more on-form strikers would have taken advatage of. Simão was terrible. I wish Ricky Q. had his chance. Ronaldo was not up to par, but I don't particularly blame him for the loss. He was starved of good service. Germany deserved the win because Portugal psyched themselves out before the first kick.

The Germans proved once again nobody, NOBODY, should write them off. It was a strange game. The first 20mins were awful, I mean I almost slept, then the Germans hit on the counter attack and the game went crazy. Two goals conceded by Portugal by set pieces, sorry Mr. Scolari but if you didn't listen to bells from Charisteas's header 4 years ago, I'm not the one to blame The defenders and Ricardo (what the hell he was doing off his posts there) were out of the game in those goals. I fell sorry for Deco, it was him against the Germans tonight. The rest of Portugal's midfield was absolutely awful.

And Low decided to put Podolski on his proper position and surprisingly he didn't score Ballack was awful for another night, yet he managed to score again. Schweinsteiger proved he should be a starter in every game for Germany and hopefully we won't see any more of this Gomez who calls himself a footballer.

For me Ballack was really one of the best players yesterday ...

Croatia vs. Turkey is a bit boring so far

Your right, that was cruel. But we've already seen in the game against the Czech that Turkey is just incredibly lucky.

TOO lucky. I hate that. Croatia had such a chance... but this proves that the game is on until the last second. I just hate that this happened.

The only thing I can say now is... I hope Germany beats Turkey.

Croatia v. Turkey was a nail-biter at the end. The image of Srna sobbing uncontrollably on the pitch got to me. The cameraman focused on his face, and man, after hearing his wailing I started to tear up a bit. Croatia really deserved the win over the 120 minutes + injury time. It's a shame. Niko Kovac deserves a better sendoff for his international career. Well, it's not only luck that brought Turkey through, but I seriously doubt that Germany will give them any favors. If Croatia defended the final two minutes instead of looking for a second, then they would have made it through. With all the first team players suspended for the Germany match, it'll take a miracle for Turkey to pull out a win this time. It should be interesting.

The Russians have started well, forced some more great saves out of van der Sar who is on fire in this tournament so far.
