Swag refers to the goodies that the mode employees get to keep after they become last season's products and room needs to be made for the new season's fashion line.
In one scene where Betty confronts Walter in Queens, a Los Angeles County MTA bus can be seen on a store window's background, which means that the scene was shot in Downtown Los Angeles. The downtown LA bus reflection was probably filmed on the east side of Broadway, between 3rd & 4th Streets. The crew was seen shooting by the poetically named "El Huarache Veloz".
In the scene where Daniel and Betty are standing with Oshi, the translator, Marc, the entourage, and the models after they all have exited the limos at the "restaurant", the translator delivers Oshi's words, "What place is this? Where have you brought me?" That line was delivered so hilariously, that the actors playing Betty and Daniel, as well as Oshi, actually broke character and laughed.
The real life names of Oshi's seven entourage are: Belle, Nadia, Jack, David, Jansen, Kyoko, and Gina.
Betty: Why would you need a pocketbook?
Marc: I need it to trade. At Mode, fashion is currency. I know that's hard for you to understand because you're very much in debt.
(waving hands at Betty and her clothing)
Wilhelmina: Good luck returning my ass!
(While opening their first paychecks)
Daniel: What the-
Betty: FICA?
Bradford: (to Wilhelmina) I don't mind paying for props and extras, but I take great exception to financing your Brazilian butt lift!
Daniel: Apparently my credit rating is lower than that of most convicted felons.
(Walter is stalking Betty at the drugstore)
Walter: (taking something off the shelf) What? I'm shopping.
Betty: Walter, you do not have a feminine itch?!
(Talking about Daniel)
Wilhelmina: For his 28th birthday, he tried to buy an island. And Jennifer Lopez.
Bradford: Shakira.
(About Oshi's meeting with Daniel Meade)
Reporter: I'm thinking NO-shi.
Betty: Well, I'm thinking YES-hi!
Translator: Oshi wants to know where we're going.
Daniel: New Jersey.
This was supposed to be the episode in which Christopher Gorham's character Henry Grubstick was introduced, but since the airing of 'Swag' was postponed from Episode 4 to Episode 11, we first see Henry in Episode 5 'The Lyin', The Watch, and the Wardrobe'.
