  • Another Great Episode

This was a truly great episode, with great acting and an excellent introduction to Salma Hayek as Sophia, in an excellent recurring role. Daniel spots her in the lobby and instantly wants to know more about her, recruiting Betty to get the dirt. Whilemina's daughter, Nico is in town and Whilemina finds her rather hard to handle. Actually though, Nico is really similar to Whilemina. Nico ends up causing trouble at MODE, but eventually bonds with her mother. Meanwhile, Betty and Hilda find out that Ignacio will be getting deported if he doesn't sort out his green card, they need $20,000 for a case worker.moreless
  • Wilhelmina deals with the strong character of her daughter. Betty and Hilda try to get 20,000 dollars.

I just started watching this show last week and this week I watched the full episode. I love Hilda and I think she is the best character. She has good fashion taste and she is pretty. Was the whole Betty losing 10 pounds in 10 days for real or just for them to get money? Wilhelmina's daughter and be annoying when she wants to. I don't know why people care so much of people wearing animal fur. I sure don't. OMG that lady didn't wear underwear! I think she wanted that guy to look because she said she would fix the elvatir and then she told him if she didn't tell him he might not of looked.moreless
  • funny and revealing episode!

This episode reveals a lot about betty's father and mother, it was a crucial part of the show and was very gripping and interesting.

It also revealed more about daniel's love life with a brilliant gueststar of Salma Hayek who played the part perfectly.

I think this episode will lead onto a lot of episodes with a similar scenario.

  • Family History!

This episode of "Ugly Betty" is about families. Two of the main characters Betty and Wilheimina has family trouble in the episode. Wilheimina's daughter is rebeling against her and Betty's father doesn't have a social security card, because he's an illeagal alien. The episode tells about family problems that influence the two characters. Betty and Wilhemina had to agree on something this week. Producer Salma Hayek makes a appeance in this episode and she can get very sexy. She can play sexy and be sexy and comes off looking good. I beginning to like "Ugly Betty" and I hope to watch more epiosdes in the future.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • When Ignacio Suarez is sick of watching the telenovela, featuring the girl pregnant with a soccer ball, Mr. Suarez turns off the TV with the telephone - not the remote, which is sitting on the table next to him in plain view. Then perhaps, Walter messed with all the technology items in the house...

    • The telenovela scene featured English subtitles.

    • Salma Hayek, who guest stars as Sofia Reyes, also appeared in the pilot episode in the telenovela that Betty watches. She is also the executive producer of the series.

  • QUOTES (8)

    • Hilda: It looks like the gay version of Star Trek.

    • Hilda: Betty, what are your numbers?
Betty: Well, uh, Christina bought ten dollars worth of protein bars, she likes the taste. Of course, she also eats sheep's stomach.

    • Daniel: We don't want anyone to get the wrong idea.
Amanda: Right, because my panties stuffed in your paper shredder probably didn't tip them off.

    • Wilhelmina: (answering the phone) Nico, I told you only emergencies. (listening to Nico) No. You cannot submit my apartment for 'pimp yo' house'!

    • Betty: (talking about Ignacio) He could be deported?
Immigration Lawyer: Very strong possibility, yes.
Betty: But, he has a family, he pays taxes, he's a Mets fan…
Hilda: He's in Oprah's book club!

    • Daniel: (about Sofia) She thinks I'm nothing but an unqualified himbo who got the job because of my father.
(Betty looks as if she's about to comment)
      Daniel: Don't say anything!

    • Daniel: Books, newspapers, ABC news? I pay attention to which of those?
      Betty: None.
      Daniel: Exactly!

    • Wilhelmina: (about Betty) I don't like it when she smiles - it's so... metallic.
