  • Game of Death

This is one of my favorate episodes of the show of them all. I personally think it's got to be one of the memorable highlights.

This isn't exactly a new concept, it's been done many times before from Batman to Macgyver and Harry Potter. Where the superhero has to play a game of death concocted by a supervillan.

There are three chalanges in this episode though two of them are the highlights of the episode.

First one is sort of a Most Dangerous Game like chalange, which was simple but thrilling all the same. Where Ulyses is in some dark arena and of course a crosshair and arrows would appear point to one of the elemental winds trying to shoot him. I'll admit I sometimes found myself doing the same thing as Ulyses just constantly dodging everytime one or more of those guys fire. Your just hoping as the sittuation gets harry that he can get out of there before he gets pulverized.

Two of the next chalanges are my favorates. The chessbord match, where Ulysses has to fight roboting chess pieces while abiding by some of the same principles of Chess. This scene I'll admit feel remonicent of the chess match scene in "Harry Potter and the Sourcer Stone". It was really cool and thrilling just seeing him do away with all of them, especially the knight robot piece which is my favorate of the bunch. The third was just as cool where he's in a pinball machine. I though it was blackly funny and painful just seeing him bounce against the pins, yeah I prefer to play pinball in the usual overhead perspective then in real life. This is also thrilling because things are getting really harry, especially when their are multiple pinball rolling down on you.

And of course the episode has that underlying moral messages like why human lifes shouldn't be played with but mainly about having respect for a siblings wishes.

    So, have a ball.moreless
  • Another one of the best episodes of the series

When Ulysees stumbles upon the Saturn-like fortress planet of the Guardian Of The Cosmic Winds, the Odyssey is magnetically pulled in.

Ulysees and the children are held prisoner and used as playthings for the Guardian's daughter's Birthday.

One of the highlights is when Ulysses lands on a futuristic chess board featuring chess pieces that can kill and a King and Queen that can hypnotise. The action here is excellent and the incidental music rocks. Seeing Ulysses riding a knight with a spear is so cool to watch.

Another highlight is when he enters a giant pinball machine with grinding gears beneath. It's quite humourous to see him getting buffered about the table, dodging the giant pinballs and avoiding the gears. It an absolute joy to watch this episode.moreless
