I am loving this sequel to lost! What, you mean Under the dome is not a sequel to lost? Isn't the Island where the end of the cave tunnel goes to in the next season? If there is a next season. if not, then both Lost and Dome end with the people heading into the light, right!

I really get pissed when I see a show like "Under The Dome" continue to be renewed year after year, while actually good shows like "Terra Nova" and others get cancelled in the first season. WTF are these execs thinking? In it's defense, if anybody only watched the first episode or two, keep going. It does pick up quite a bit after that. Unfortunately, there is just too much stupidity. I am in the beginning of season 2, and IDK, it just seems to get stupider now by the day...

Seriously, are writers these days running out of ideas for shows? under the dome must be the one of the most horrible shows that i have.ever seen. I will not be watching the second season if they pay me.

I mus say, I came here with high expectations. However, what I saw was an attempt to created a hollywood-ish tv show with a small influence from the book. I`m surprised, as I`m aware that this series is being produced under SK's watch.

They took the dome theme, took the same characters (some are not even the same "persona") and took some of the events there and tried to make a Lost kinda show. Honestly, I'm dissapointed. This book is soooo good, really one of the best i've read in my whole life, the history is so visual, it allows you to imagine the scenes so easely thanks to SK's great writing skills and they turn a story that could be turn into a series or even into a movie this crap.

Sorry for the harsh words heh. I'm kinda sad =p

I am with many of you in my disappointment. It had been awhile since I'd read the book, and really did not think too much about the tv story line when it first began. After the first two episodes I got very disgusted and wondered why it seems those who write the screenplays for SK's novels, seem to always screw them up!! This could have been really good, if they'd have followed the story as much as possible, as King wrote it.

I am a totally Kings-fan, but I must confess, that I haven't read this book... but I am very positive about the show. It is exciting and have some good plots ( Neg. on the Angie/crazy-cop-kid side plot - hope it actually lead somewhere?!). To compare it to Game of Thrones and LotR is WAY OFF!!! It's not even in the same range of genre, so I can't take your post seriously :-D Compared to other King-series like Haven, I really think it buckles up ;-)

Are you seriously comparing Under the Dome with a multi-million dollar product like Game of Thrones? You do realise the budgets of these two shows are _vastly_ different, the purpose and the quality of the actors is so far apart they might be done on two different planets.

And don't even start mixing Lord of the Rings into the discussion, that only serves to make you look incredibly silly...

Have to admit I was completely blown away by the pilot episode. But not in a good way. After watching such series/movies such as The Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings, I was totally shocked to see the lack of consistency with the published book with Under the Dome. I really enjoyed the book and was completely floored when after watching the pilot episode I came to the conclusion that the title, the dome and some character's names were pretty much all the two have in common. There is very little in the series that is true to the book. I am going to force myself to watch a couple more episodes with the thought that the series is only vaguely based on the book and is pretty much a different story and see if I can enjoy it. Right now, I am very disappointed.

As rightfully you should be. Disappointed, that is. Here's good source material that could've been a decent mini-series. But do to network greed over quality, it's been diluted into stupid TV.
