Update: News on the filming: Underbelly shooting on the streets of Sydney
Sydney fans -- if you're jealous of Melbourne getting all the Underbelly action, now is your chance to see the hit series filming in your city. Lane Cove council, in Sydney's North West, issued this statement on their web site:
Are you a fan of the top-rating Australian phenomenon, the Underbelly series? Filming of the new series of Underbelly - "Underbelly – the Golden Mile" will take place in Longueville Road, Lane Cove, over three consecutive nights.
The retail strip will be dressed to make it look like Darlinghurst Road, Kings Cross in the 1980s.
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, September 7th, 8th & 9th 2009, Longueville Road between Birdwood Avenue and Central Avenue will be closed overnight to traffic from 7.30pm. to 6am. Traffic will be diverted into Birdwood Avenue and Central Ave.
All businesses will be trading as normal. The street will not be closed to pedestrians and members of the public will still be able to access businesses on Longueville Road.
Park in the adjacent car parks, have a meal and watch some filming!
We're looking into interview opportunities now and may head along to the set during the flming dates. Any local fans planning to check out the action?
Let us know and if we make it down maybe we can say hi!
