The CEO of the famous Hooters franchise goes under cover in the fast-paced kitchen of one of the restaurants. Not only does he struggle with his new job, but he has to step in when a manager steps out.
The Marine supervisor who watches his employee struggle to roll a rack of glass mugs over a door sill made me think about USMC mentality. A Marine approach to challenges is to physically overcome them by individual will. My thought was: "This task should not be this hard." Change the sill plate to a more gradual ramp or increase the diameter of the castors on the rack to allow an easier access. Marines will "make do" with what they are given. The US Army experience is "Let's work smarter -not harder". Upgrade the equipment. (Retired after 28 years- a "Mustang" Supervisor for 9 years) US Army vet, Vietnam 1970-1971.moreless
