    Emma Roberts was born in New York in 1991. She is the daughter of Eric Roberts and Kelly Cunningham. The aprents got a divorced shortly after Emma was born.

    Besides having a father for an actor, Emma is also the niece of actress Julia Roberts, with whom she carries an uncanny resemblance.

    Her mother wanted Emma to have a normal childhood so unlike many young actors or actresses, Emma did not have any formal training. She did get her earliest break into acting by way of her aunt. In 2001, Emma had a small part in America's Sweethearts that starred Aunt Julia.

    Independant of her family connections, Emma starred in the2001 film Blow which starred Johnny Depp. Shortly after, Emma expanded her acting resume with Grand Champion and it's sequel Spymate.

    In 2004, Emma garnered her first starring role in the tv series Unfabulous. This role won her critical acclaim, awards and national recognition among young viewers. The show however, would be the only tv series that she would star in outside of the occasional guest role.

    With the end of taping Unfabulous in 2007, Emma has returned to movies and put the small music career she bagan with Nickelodeon on hold.
