Carrie: Hey, ma'am, excuse me. You can't be in here. I'm going to have to ask you to leave.
Joanne Webster: What is it? Going to ask? You have to ask? Or you're asking?
Al: Carrie...
Carrie: This is a crime scene.
Joanne Webster: What tipped you off? Was it the gaping wound in the parietal section of his skull? Cause' that's what clued me in.
Al: So, according to the cop covering the switchboard, this guy asked for you by name.
Carrie: There was nothing personal to me on that call. I mean, I was quoted on a case in the Post last week, maybe he got my name from there.
Al: Either way, we should do some due diligence on your past cases, just to make sure.
Roe: How come I never get my name in the paper?
Carrie: Well you gotta have something smart to say!
Roe: Huh? (laughs) I think it's the red hair. I'm thinking about dyeing mine a light pink, maybe a blond.
Joanne Webster: (arriving at Al's office) Nice digs.
Al: Ah, thank you. Not much, but we call it the Squad Room.
Joanne Webster: You should see where they have me.
Al: You guys still over at Staten, right?
Joanne Webster: If by still you mean after 87 years, yeah. I swear I have John Wilkes Booth in a freezer over there!

Joanne: Apparently lamination and winning baseball is yet to hit this borough.
Joanne is taking a shot at the New York Mets, who play their home games at Citi Field in the borough of Queens. Although the teams has had success in the past, including World Series Championships in 1969 and 1986, they are coming off three consecutive losing seasons and have made the playoffs only once (2006) in the last 11 seasons.
Al: Do you think you can estimate the entry angle of the bullet?
Joanne: Can Jeter turn two?
Al: Not as fast as he used to.
Joanne is referring to long-time New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter. He is the Yankees' captain and has played his entire 17-year career with the team. At age 37, many feel that he has lost a step or two from when he was in his prime.
Roe: The podiatrist in the study with nail clippers.
