  • Henry Griffin moves to Washington, D.C. to attend high school. However, things aren't so simple.

The pilot episode introduces us to Henry Griffin, the son of two traveling explorers. Henry appears to be a free spirit and his parents aren't too happy about him getting into trouble. So, they send him to Washington D.C. to live with his mother's brother, Bryan Bartlett, and Henry's cousin, Jasper. Henry is in a different world at his new high school. Plus, he tries to solve the murder of his godfather. This episode seems to introduce a theme, plenty of history and culture from the USA and other places. Henry teams up with his cousin to solve the murder, find a lost treasure and keep from getting in trouble by his uncle. I hope the rest of the episodes will be full of historical trivia, action and action like this one.moreless
  • Good start. Hopefully the rest of the series will be as decent.

    8.5
In this, the second real live action CN show (if you count that trainwreck, Out of Jimmy's Head), we find Henry Griffin, a lovable and upright young man who is nevertheless ignorant to any 21st century terms or devices, being kicked out of a martial arts session for being late, unfocused, unattentive, and possessing most of the qualities that make a bad jedi. Then, true to form, his parentts show up and scold him for leaving his temple (though he rescued several hikers). Then they tell him that he's going home because of his unruliness and that he's going to be moving in with his cousin and uncle (who runs the best school in the nation). It gets better. Upon arriving, Henry finds himself scorned by his cousin (for an embarrasing incident involving the boy peeing his pants) and mistrusted by his uuncle. Henry also literally falls into a mystery from the moment he arrives and he soon finds himself working with his cousin to solve the untimely death of his godfather, the only man to ever understand and empathize with Henry. Decent work, CN. A little dismal for a pilot, but hopefully the series will improve.moreless
