U.S. Presidential Elections

Show Summary

U.S. Presidential Elections is a series of video presentations that explore the ins and outs of electing a President in the United States. Topics range from how the electorial college works to real inaugural addresses presented by some of our greatest presidents. Viewers can realize how the electorial college votes come in to play versus the population votes, by viewing the closely called and recent election of George W. Bush who defeated Al Gore. View commentary by Timothy Dickson, who shares his slant on the historic campaign debates of John F. Kennedy versus Richard Nixon. You can also test your knowledge of American history and government by viewing an interactive video based on an actual Citizenship Test given by the U.S. government. Check out the 2008 "Obama Makes History" video, to view how persons like Al Sharpton, Brian Williams, and H. W. Brands of the University of Texas felt about the historic election of the first African-American President.
