It has been announced that abc has canceled v, as well as 5 other shows. Which means that that there isn't going to be a season 3, and there won't be any more episodes ever again. The show will be missed !!

Well that sucks althought it was kind of expected.

3 of 6 shows I watched regularly this season have been canceled (SGU, V) or are ending (Smallville).

This kind of leaves the pool of SciFi kind of empty. Sad :-(

Good riddance if you ask me. They need better quality scifi / fantasy shows.

I wish they were cancelling it to replace it with awesome new shows but most of their new pilots sound pretty crappy.

not good at all can"t end it all open like that. why can"t sci fi pick it up they have done before with shows. this programme was realy good. it was getting better i also heard they wanted to bring actors from the original show. they had already wrote scrips for them not a good day and friday the 13th what a day to be cancelled.

I have to admit that I'm sad to see it go having watched every episode. But this show just didn't bring it in Season 2. The storyline was all over the place, numerous plotlines were dropped with no explanation and the Fifth Column never accomplished anything. Also very hard to believe than in 2 seasons, we never saw or heard from the President of the United States! This show had a lot of potential. The casting was good, the elements were there but it never got it together. It's hard to think of a show with a more tragic series finale!!

IMO S1 wasn't really that hot either. They dragged out stuff like Ryan/Val & the baby, then Val gets killed by the V's & we get no reaction from him. Then in S2 he was all about the kid.

Tyler & Lisa what was the point? Another plot that they spent so much time on that went nowhere. She loves him but keeps him in the dark til the very end, it would have been so easy for her to convince him his mom is telling the truth. Sure Tyler was annoying but that was the writers fault, why even create a character only to do absolutely nothing with him?

The finale was just a big middle finger to the loyal fans that stuck with the show, because they knew the show was on the bubble & still did such a one sided ending. Why not have the humans win enough battles that they have at least a shot of winning, instead of the total failure we got?

Is there any science fiction on TV now besides Doctor Who that's not a re-run, not cancelled, preferably involving outer space, shaceships and what not? I'm giving up on space opera entirely if this keeps up.

There is -nothing- left to watch. At least I don't know a single sci-fi series of that type that's actually new and still running. Not even Doctor Who has that.

Very disappointing.

As for V ... well it wasn't as good TV material as the original, but it was just about as cheesy and I enjoyed it for that. It had a few bits more drama element and I was actually looking forward to what would happen next. Plus, I loved how the actors of the old series had appearances on this show. Boy, Marc Singer was a bit hard to recognise.

But anyhow, ... it's all gone up in smoke. Again. These TV channels have really started the habit to outright cancel everything in the middle of nowhere. It should be at least common practice to respectfully allow the producer of the show to make a final episode or two.

Surface, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate Universe, V, Caprica, Firefly, ...
how many bloody times do I have to miss out on a proper ending for a sci-fi series? And why is the US ratings system stuck in the fifties? A lot more people are watching this stuff than they're counting. *Especially* now as those people like Sci-fi and like to watch it the sci-fi way: on devices other than a regular olde TV.
