I was pretty much the same but Jack is really growing on me. I liked the very last scene with Ryan, Georgie, Erica and Jack meeting together, even more since Ryan is a v. It's shaping up for me.

Yeah, Jack is the priest, right? I'm trying no to get too attached to him in case this series develops as its predecessor...
Yeah, he is the 'friggin' priest' Hmmm, I'm rooting for him, I think he has a lot of potential not being a tough FBI agent, or a good V or an old member of the resistance. We'll see how his character is developed...

Well, as I said, I hope Jack's storyline doesn't follow the one of his predecessor in the old V series (there, he was older and took care of little Elizabeth until...). He looks pretty good here but... HE'S A CATHOLIC PRIEST!!!

Yeah, I get it but I don't think that'll be the case. Or I really hope it's not. I totally see him bending some rules, a priest could bring about some interesting charater development under the right pen, of course.

I love it because it clearly shows the dangers of socialized medicine. Let them take over our lives in that way and they're truly won, Vs or not!

seems a more apt metaphor for privatized medicine to me - that kind of unaccountability and control by self-interested parties over something that people need in order to live, as opposed to universal and equitable access, and accountability to the public

Gaddamit, I was trolling for foxtards and thought I'd be able to come back and say "Ha Ha! Only kidding, you're all idiots!". I am from the UK and we have socialised medicine up to our eyeballs. I'd be dead if it wasn't for it. Does the government have 'death councils'? Sure, but far fairer ones than the insurance companies do, when they're trying to get out of saving your life!

That said, I can't help but feel V is rabid right wing propaganda trying to make people think their heaviest chains are in fact their freedoms. e.g. the 'freedom' to take out a second mortgage when you 'choose' a life saving operation.

I hope they do a follow up to this series, called "W", which will, in fact, be a prequel. Aliens seize power in the US through rigged elections in 2001, then go about the earth, starting wars, taking the education and science out of education and replacing it with something destined to send mankind back to the dark ages, disenfranchising the poor and diverting the nation's precious resources in to the hands of the rich (who, as we all know are V agents). Though, what are the chances? It's nothing like anything like this happen in reality.

    But meh, troll fail.

V was dumbed down so much that it isn't even V anymore. It's CSI: They Live

you hit the nails head there, as it now it is a mix of csi and they live and not a good one at that... and with that cliffhang ending of 4th episode, that was more like an ending to the whole show than a clicffhang. it sure felt more like "i have lost interest after the 4 four months wait" and that i guess alot of people will do...

I liked the series so far. Things definitely did shift gears here and there because it's only 4 episodes but the ending of the last episode was like....."WTF?"

If there really is going to be that many of them, it will probably end up being like the old V with all the action and stuff.

based on this video the new V (i haven't seen the old V) clearly needs a better stunt department and more action. It does need more action and/or more character development to keep my interest.

Its always nice to see a troll fail, but I really don't see how socialized medicine is any better (considering how corrupt government is) than privatized medicine. Sure its cheaper, but that doesn't make it better. There the troll can be happy now.

politics aside , This V is dull . Its slower than the original miniseries and quite frankly I would be loathe to watch it after this long break . To be fair though I will watch the 1st season and go from there . I am after all a big Sci-fi fan

It's a rebirth of the original V concept, however the story is not the same. Some people seem to forget that, I suggest you go and re-watch the original V and those people might be able to comment with some perspective. As for those who have not seen the original mini series or tv season it is very dated now and is essentially a "modern day" (1980's) "Nazi" domination story, the V's being the modern day nazi's.

To soon to tell for me. At least V is better than Invasion was, I do realize that's not saying much. I hope ABC does a V marathion before starting the rest of the series. I almost don't care anymore.

Well, the experts can be wrong I don't think V did that bad rating wise considering the awfully scheduling.
