ABC will air its alien-invasion drama V in two parts starting in November and then continuing after the Olympics in March 2010.

"We're planning to air four episodes in November and end with a cliff-hanger," a rep for the show tells TVGuide.com. In March, the show will resume airing the rest of the original 13-episode order, which has not changed with the new airing schedule. V continues to be on a production hiatus until mid-October, an insider tells TVGuide.com.

"We always intended to break the show up into 'pods' to make it more of an event," the rep adds.

Well, since I heard that there were some "creative" troubles and that those caused the stop in production after episode 4... I don't know, I hope the rest of the episodes will be better. What I don't understand is why they decided to air the 4 episodes, taking into account the fact that they were not happy with the resulting quality. Why didn't they wait till they had produced a few more? I don't expect much from episode 4 since I'm assuming it was the "last straw", the one that made them stop and turn things around. Am I being too pessimistic? Maybe. Am I gonna stop watching the show? NO WAY! I'm a V fan and too nostalgic to let go so soon. I'm looking forward to the second part of this season: I'll keep my fingers crossed. I refuse to believe that there aren't writers good enough to get this story right!

Just leave it to the TV-network potheads to ruin the good show.

This is such a ridiculous idea. Who on earth thought it would be a good idea to build up up an audience for 4 episodes and then leave it hanging for four months???
There is always the forgetful factor that says no matter how good a series is, is you leave alone for too long you'll forget it or you'll lose that buzz. For me, Fringe is a good example, I was absolutely buzzing after the last episode but after a long gap between series they returned and almost forgot the previous ending and just paddled along for a few episodes before they realised they had an ending to follow up.
V is just hitting it's stride, lets hope they don't blow it....

I was always skeptical about the whole 4 episodes now and the rest in March thing but if the Olympics are going to get in the way then perhaps it is best to wait I'd still prefer all the episodes now but as long as they do bring it back in March I'll be happy.

When do the Olympics start anyway?

The 2010 Winter Olympics will be held February 12-28, 2010 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, with some events held in the resort town of Whistler nearby.

3 months sounds way too long for me. I'd keep tuning in, but a lot of people might forget about it and get hooked on to something else in V's current slot time.

Airing 4 episodes of a new show, and taking a hiatus is probably a bad idea. It's likely that many people will forget about it, unless of course the 'cliffhanger' is amazing. I will probably keep watching anyway. We'll see how it goes.

That length of time is pretty ridiculous no matter how good the series.

I remember when a series would start in September, break in November, return in January, and end in June. Course back then a season was 26 episodes long, now it's lucky for a season to have 20.

This show isn't a 'sleeper' it's a snoozer! Watching reruns of Gilligan's Island is more stimulating, which isn't saying a whole lot, just like this tv knock-off.

Yup, those were the good old days. Now the networks have their heads up their arsses. it's just not worth watching new shows anymore.

They should have made the 4 episodes into a mini-serie just like the original. The original was so interesting. This new V is for Very Boring. I am so disappointed with the 4rth episode. They definitely need a new writing team. The original V's characters had depth and emotions. These new ones are so stagnant. Even if they brign bacDiana/Jane Badler, they cannot save V. It would be like the same desperate move for bringing back Heather Locklear to save Melrose Place. Talent doesn't triump bad writing.

Yeah, that strategy just worked wonders for CBS and Jericho three years ago!
