For a change, Yuki is the strong character in this episode, trying to save Zero, despite his apparent willingness to give up without a fight. The suspense is palpable when Yagari is going after Zero. The flashbacks of Zero, when he was younger, when Yagari was his teacher adds to the poignancy. The flashbacks later add tension to the scene, where Yuki is in class, waiting to see if Zero will show up. THere is a cinematic quality to the way in which the scenes cut back and forth between Yuki in class, and Zero brooding in his room. The background music adds to the suspense, and we wonder what Yagari will do when he enters Zero's room, and we wonder if Yuki will figure out what's going on in time to save Zero. I can't say any more, or I'll spoil it for you.
