GET IN GEAR! THE VAN-PIRES ARE HERE!

Derelict cars come to life transformed by a mysterious meteor into motorized monsters that suck the gas from other cars in order to feed their need for speed!

Only the motivators -- four teens also affected by the meteor -- stand between the villains and the planet run dry of precious fuel. Too old for bikes but too young for cars, they live for the day they can get behind the wheel. But now - after the cosmic events of the night of the meteor - not only can they drive a car, they are the cars!

To save the day - they have to fight the night! Hopping behind the wheel with the cry of "Mission ignition!", the teen and the car become one - ready to battle with Tracula, Cardaver, Ambula and Automaniac - four of the wildest villains to ever burn up the screen! So check your fear and get in gear, the Van-pires are here!

I tend to give shows like this a bit more credit than most others do, in fact I enjoy shows like this, I've rated high on shows like Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills. But this takes the cake. No wonder it lasted a dozen episodes. The series was poorly concieved, the idea of gas vampires seemed a bit pointless after the first episode, in fact it might have been good if that plot had remained in one episode. The graphics were okay, though the key shifting effect was a bit far fetched even for a fantasy series. The acting was campy at best and didn't have a good solid plot. Creating a full CGI battle while meshing it with live action seqences seemed way over the top. Though original in context I couldn't get over it. I only watched maybe two episodes of it, the theme song was horrendous even.moreless
