Vengeance Unlimited

ABC (ended 1999)

  • Season 1 Episode 15: Legalese

  • If I was Michael Dearborn, and I was buried in dirt up to my neck, and then someone put a cone on top of my head, my first action to get free would be to wiggle the cone away, not wait until I was completely free and then remove the cone, but I guess we are different...

  • Again, wouldn´t at least one of the reporters see that Chapel switches breath mint boxes?

  • When Chapel listens in on Dearborn´s discussion with his client (the owner of Greenlayer), he uses a laser. But after KC enters the car, he lowers the laser. The sound, however, continues.

  • Season 1 Episode 14: Critical

  • Mr Chapel must have some special computer program to exchange his picture for Internal Affairs agent Maurice Camel´s. When one replaces one picture with another, it usually doesn´t morph from one to the other, but rather like cutting out the first and then replace it with the second.

  • Is the court really going to base the whole sentence on one itty bitty alibi, that could easily have been fabricated? And what does Kevin mean when he says that Ben literally couldn't have done it? That Ben isn't strong enough? Plus: Is there no one else to testify about Ben´s odd behaviour before the murder? Again, Mr Chapel´s counterargument: "What he means is that not only is Ben emotionally capable of killing his own father, but he could not possibly have done it as they were at the movies together, providing an alibi" In the case of forensic evidence, such as blood on Ben´s shirt, his alibi would be null and void. Also, as I pointed out, the court should have taken into account that false alibis are not that uncommon - it's every criminal's defence.

  • Ben´s lawyer asks Deb if she would benefit from Ben going to jail, and she has to say yes. Surely that cannot be the deciding factor, if Ben should go free or not? In response, Mr Chapel wrote: "As long as the defense can provide other theories for the courts, then they establish "reasonable doubt". Her brother going to jail leaves all of the father's inheritance to her, providing motive." BUT what I meant was that (as CSI has taught us), no one can commit a crime without leaving clues. Forensic evidence could definitely show that Ben is the killer.

  • After Ben´s pal Kevin gives Ben an alibi in court, they are climbing into a car. But before they get in, Kevin says "I want my 500.000.". Wouldn´t at least one reporter pick that up?

  • Season 1 Episode 13: Clique

  • When Chapel has his tooth crown removed, the crown is on the left (looking at him). Yet later watching the trial of the "clique" on TV, as the prosecutor talks about Arnie's tooth crown found on the crime scene, Chapel rubs his right cheek.

  • Season 1 Episode 9: Noir

  • In the first shot when Jason looks at the headlines that Mr Chapel uses as PR, we see Jason having flipped over a couple of pages, but after the cut, he´s looking at the first page.

  • After Detective Swain finds Mr Chapel´s phone number, Chapel says he´s changing number and dumps the phone in a waste basket. Wouldn´t it be simpler to just change the SIM card? Of course, as mrchapel wrote: "Chapel is a multi-millionaire, and probably has 'disposable' pay-as-you-go phones (AKA Throw-away phones)for such an occasion. Changing the card would be more hassle than it's worth."

  • Season 1 Episode 8: Dishonorable Discharge

  • If Samantha has Aaron's watch, then why doesn't she use it as evidence against him?

  • Season 1 Episode 4: Bitter End

  • There are ways of verifying if Hix sent the threatening postcards. Fingerprints or saliva on the stamps. The authorities could also investigate Hix's sources of postcards.

  • Season 1 Episode 2: Victim of Circumstances

  • This episode establishes that Chapel doesn't have any fingerprints.

  • The nurse, Tilly, used Chapel's services to be left alone by her ex-husband.

  • According to a news clipping, Mr. Chapel was active as early as 1993.

  • Season 1 Episode 1: Cruel and Unusual

  • KC´s father was involved in her favor. He now lives in Arizona. Other facts revealed about KC: she's sort of involved with a man, and she has dropped out of law school several times. She studied in Texas where she learned how to jump out of cars to avoid groping football-playing boys.

  • The coroner´s favor isn´t mentioned, but he seems to be very cooperative.

  • Chapel's phone number is 555-0132.

  • Posing as Edward Pike, Mr. Chapel moves $5 million via phone, but he fails to specify where the money should be transferred. Later on, Mr. Chapel has access to the money, or is it perhaps another $5 million?
