  • Trivia

    • During the final scene, during which Veronica and Weevil are talking, you can see a black teen wearing a green shirt walking behind Veronica. Right after he does, it cuts to Weevil and you can see the exact same extra walking behind him.

    • When the group of boys run through the carnival naked, you can see that they are wearing flesh colored underwear.

    • The final scenes with Weevil were filmed in front of a green screen with stock footage added later. You will notice a guy walk close to Weevil and not even touch him.

  • Quotes

    • Logan: Oh, the rich. How they mock you.
      (pays for his slushies)
Veronica: This is a fifty dollar bill.
      Logan: Had them made special.

    • Veronica: What's your poison?
Logan: Oh, emotionally unavailable women. Let's see... uh, I want something that suits my mood.
Veronica: Oooh, I'm sorry. We're all out of liquid evil.
Logan: I'll take two of whatever will turn my tongue blue.
      Veronica: Hot date?
      Logan: Raincheck?

    • Dick: Yo, I am so good at this game, bro.
Logan: Shooting in a clown's mouth. Your future's bright, Dick.

    • Veronica: And for my next trick! I will take J.B. into the hallway, whisper a few magic words, and when we return, he'll confess.
(Veronica and J.B. talk in the hallway, then go back into the room)
      J.B: I stole the test.
      Veronica: TA DAAAA!

    • Keith: In the spirit of full client-investigator disclosure, I'm not offering you this beer out of the goodness of my heart.
      Terrence: You're not?
Keith: Nope. I'm fufilling a long-time fantasy of sharing a cold one with my favorite ball players. And after we're done, we're gonna play catch in the parking lot.

    • Dick: Dude. Am I drunk?
Logan: No, dude, you're just special.

    • Dick: How lucky am I that I got Terrence Cook to sign that ball for me before he blew up my classmates. It's going to be worth so much more than that napkin O.J. signed for me at The Claim Jumper.
Cora: Jackie! Jackie! Hey! Wait up!
Jackie: Sorry. I was distracted by the pitchforks and torches.

    • Madison: You want to save yourself some time? Start with her. (points to Jackie) We all saw her, lurking around.
Jackie: Lurking? Ah, you mean, standing while black?

    • Veronica: I found this in the copy machine.
Mrs. Hauser: Where did you get this? This is my exam.
Veronica: In... the... copy machine. Am I still speaking English?

    • Mrs. Hauser: In less than three minutes, Veronica Mars has lost all the senior trip money.
      Veronica: Is that a record?

    • Veronica: Madison, you have a little... (points to her nose)
Madison: What, brown? Because I'm a brown noser?
Veronica: No, glitter. Because you're a fairy princess.

    • Weevil: Is it your undying love for me, or just good old-fashioned lust?
      Veronica: Que?
Weevil: That kept you from turning me in?
Veronica: Love...Of rollercoasters. And hatred of anything that requires me to tie a sweater over my shoulders and be at sea with my classmates. Nothing to do with you.

  • Notes

  • Allusions

    • Veronica: (voiceover) Two by two. Apparently you can only enter the carnival as if it were the Ark.

In the Holy Bible, Genesis 6:19 reads, "And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female."

    • Logan: You had me at 'ice cold.'

"You had me at 'hello'" is the famous line by Renée Zellweger in the 1996 romantic drama Jerry Maguire.

    • When confronting Weevil at the end of the episode, Veronica tells him that she invented the story about the 50 dollar bill. Weevil explains his plan to Veronica who compares it to the elaborate scheme from The Thomas Crown Affair movies, asking Weevil if he got inspiration from the Pierce Brosnan version (1999) or from the original Steve McQueen version (1968).

    • Jackie: School carnival? Me, you, in the Shake Shack doing a little 'You're the One That I Want'?

This is an allusion to the final scene of the 1978 musical film Grease, in which the two main characters dance through their school's graduation carnival singing "You're the One that I Want." The fact that Madison is wearing a pink jacket in this scene may be an allusion to Grease's girl gang, the Pink Ladies.

    • Dick: Why is The Beav all snuggly with that chick from Ghost World?

Ghost World is a 2001 movie staring Thora Birch and Scarlett Johansson about two social outcasts and their view on the world. The film was based on a comic book by the same name.

    • Episode Title: Ain't No Magic Mountain High Enough
This is also an allusion to "Magic Mountain", a large Six Flags amusement park located near where the fictional town of Neptune would be in California.

    • Episode Title: Ain't No Magic Mountain High Enough

Referring to the Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell song, "Ain't No Mountain High Enough".
