Veronica: Calls himself Little Orphan Annie.
Harold Gray's Little Orphan Annie is a comic strip that first appeared on August 5, 1924. The title, suggested by an editor at the Chicago Tribune Syndicate, is inspired by James Whitcomb Riley's 1885 poem "Little Orphant Annie". The strip went on to inspire radio plays, a Broadway musical and at least three motion pictures.
