If you're going to dislike this episode, you don't have to wait long to start your objections. Kate, new to London and looking for a house, takes a real fancy to the pad where a girl has been brutally murdered, and takes a good look around even as the corpse on the living-room floor is being examined by her colleagues. The whole show skates on the thinnest of ice where taste is concerned, and sometimes, admittedly, cracks in the ice do begin to develop. But the plot has a kind of demented ingenuity, and the scene where Kate takes a rolling-pin to the kneecaps of her unpleasant husband does achieve the kind of it's-awful-but-it's-funny ambience that the show generally strives for. Well, for this viewer, anyway.
