AIRED:
This one picks up where the last one left off, with Voltron flying toward Doom and Lotor preparing to launch his father who is a most unwilling robeast pilot. Lotor is pumping up the morale of his troops, while Romelle and her forces are ready to lend Voltron a hand. She and Sven are prepared to take out Haggar's laboratory, while Lotor has sent out his minions to try to stop her.moreless

  • The intrigue kicks up a notch, as Voltron draws closer to bringing the villains down hard.

    8.5
We know its done with redubbed footage that we'd already seen in Vehicle Voltron, but to see the Drules even for a moment interested in the goings-on of Planet Doom really brings the merged universe together and bonus points to the offhand comment about how Zarkon just takes worlds for himself instead of offering them up for the Drules who really need them. Though their role in putting Lotor on the throne is completely inserted, again it is welcome in the light of the series' premise.

Lotor of course is busy throwing himself triumphs, thinking that his tricks and traps will out over the invading Voltron. His ego shines through as never before.

Another good episode as we build towards a victory of sorts.moreless

    • The episode of King of Beasts GoLion used to create this episode of Voltron is titled "GoLion's Desperate Battle." In that episode, Emperor Daibazaal (King Zarkon in Voltron.) dies inside the Mechablack Beastman Galra (Robeast in Voltron.) when GoLion destroys the Beastman with his sword. Honerva (Haggar in Voltron) reveals to Prince Imperial Sincline (Prince Lotor in Voltron.) that she is Daibazaal's mother. Honerva also tells Sincline that Sincline's mother was from Altea (Arus in Voltron.) In a fit of rage, Sincline kills Honerva's pet cat Jaga (Unnamed in Voltron.) and then kills Honerva herself.
