Episode Summary

EDIT
Goodbye, Earth
AIRED:

From Castle Gradam, Akira, Isamu, Tsuyoshi and Hiroshi watch as a barrage of missiles strike Planet Earth. Despite the fact that the planet was decimated by nuclear war and there is no life on the planet as a result, the team feels compelled to rush to their home planet and protect it. Raible and Hys forbid them to go to Earth because doing so would leave Altea vulnerable to a Galra attack. Fala begs Akira to stay but he refuses. The GoLion Team (minus Fala) heads to Earth hoping to see their home once more before its inevitable destruction. Little do they know that Prince Imperial Sincline has followed them with the Galra Imperial Fleet and the Deathblack Beastman Batolda in an attempt to destroy them once and for all. The team easily defeats the Galra Imperial Forces but without Fala and the Blue Lion GoLion can't be formed. How will they fight Batolda?

"Goodbye, Earth" is one of the best and most powerful episodes of "Beast King GoLion". The action sequences take a back seat to the best dramatic moments of the entire series. The viewer can actually feel the pain and sadness of the male members of the GoLion Team as they watch their home planet explode. The images of Earth in it's final moments are very gut wrenching indeed. The final scenes of this episode stuck with me for quite a while after I watched this episode. A classic episode of a classic series.moreless
