    • TRIVIA (1)

      • When Babe is preparing to bat against Phineas for the first time, the camera flashes to Jeffrey for a couple of seconds. This scene is reversed, as indicated by the reverse lettering on the uniforms of the players behind Jeffrey.

    • NOTES (1)

      • This episode showed Babe Ruth as a Yankee in 1927 hitting his then-record setting 60 HR of the season. Baseball history tells us that happened on September 30, 1927. As he trotted around the bases, it showed the Babe and his teammates (as well as batboy Jeffrey) with Yankee uniforms with numbers on their backs. This hadn't happened yet.
In 1929, both the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Indians introduced numbers on the backs of players' uniforms. The Yankee numbers were designed to correspond to their starting players' positions in the batting order; hence, Babe Ruth was No. 3 and Lou Gehrig was No. 4. By 1932, every Major League team had also placed numbers on their uniforms, a practice that remains to this day.
