EDIT
The Virtual V-6
AIRED:
An eccentric young inventor, Ulysses T. Poindexter, comes to the Underground Voice Daily, with the blueprints to his greatest invention: an engine that runs on plant extracts! Kaitlin agrees to write a story about it, to ensure it gets produced, but first, she has her teammates build one in virtual reality to prove the inventor's claims. Grimlord, knowing that such a pollution-free engine could cost his Karl Ziktor identity majorly, wants all evidence of it destroyed. When the engine is built into VR JB's Fighterbike, a bus full of children is hijacked by Skugs, forcing JB into a trap at the hands of the villainous Drillbot, while his bike is dismantled! Can the team pull together and score one for the environment?moreless

    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (7)

      • General Ivar claims that he and Drillbot will get the disc with the blueprints on it, yet neither do anything of the sort, the job instead going to Skugs. Ivar does nothing at all in the episode, in fact!

      • Also, according to the press release summary, at the end, Pointdexter's engine designs were turned over to Woody's friend, who owns a motorcycle company, to be put into production. This does not happen in the finished product.

      • VR JB calls his Fighterbike "Sky Cycle" repeatedly. Even though this might just refer to its flight mode, Grimlord calls it "Fighterbike" properly, and JB calls it "Sky Cycle" even when it's not in flight mode!

      • The press release summary for this episode refers to the Grimlord's Air Fighters (or Fighter Jets), as "Leviatrons". Perhaps that was their original name in pre-production.

      • Kaitlin fights Skugs in a quarry, but when she contacts JB, she's standing on a snowy peak nowhere near the desert area of the quarry. Similarly, she was supposed to go help JB and the bus of kids, but the bus was in the middle of the city all the time, not near the quarry!

      • Prof Hart calls the Air Cruisers "Air Fighters", only to have Ryan then call them by their correct name in the next scene.

      • If the engine was so important, why did the Troopers go swimming before testing it out? Not to mention, how did Grimlord not know where the disc was when he can virtually spy on them any time?

    • QUOTES (1)

      • JB: Can we build a prototype engine in virtual reality, and test it on the Sky Cycle?
Professor Hart: Virtually, anything is possible.

    • NOTES (5)

      • In airing order, this is the first appearance of VR JB's Fighter Bike (called "Sky Cycle" here, though that might be the term for it when in flight mode. Speaking of which, this is the first time it's used extensively in flight, and the only time it uses its unnamed energy conversion attack).

      • This episode marks the first time the show makes US footage of a fully transformed VR Trooper against an enemy (this being VR Kaitlin vs Skugs).

      • This marks the debut of a recurring gag, whenever someone overhears Jeb talking, Ryan claims to be the source of the comment (and usually tries to reword it).

      • This marks the first time Tao gets to fight Skugs himself.

      • Ulysses T. Pointdexter will return several times on the show, the first being "Virtually Powerless".
