    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (2)

      • In Scout Scatter, the first five cars to cross the finish line did it practically side by side, but the photographs shown as evidence of the exact order each one did it, shows them one car in front of another.

      • In "Free Wheeling to Wheeling", after a train pulls Dick Dastardly's crane(with him and Muttley on it), we see his car in a scene racing against the others but, later on, we see them still inside the crane and Dick asking for someone to stop the train, so he and Muttley could get down the crane. Also, what was a train doing on an automotive thoroughfare?

    • QUOTES (2)

      • From Free Wheeling to Wheeling, about the Buzzwagon being on fire.
Dick Dastardly: That, my dear Muttley, is the hottest car in the race.

      • From Free Wheeling To Wheeling, as the Ant Hill Mob tries to get their car up a hill...
Clyde: All right, you mugs...everyone out and push!
Ring-A-Ding: "Aw, gee Clyde...do we have to?
Clyde: Perhaps you'd rather I should tell Bonnie on you?

    • NOTES (3)

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Clyde's quote above refers to the 1920s outlaws Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. In 1967, a hit movie, Bonnie & Clyde, was released, starring Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty. Serge Gainsbourg would record a hit single, "The Ballad Of Bonnie & Clyde" to coincide with the film.
