This episode is without a doubt one of the most suspenseful, scariest Walker episodes ever. Usually when you think of "Walker, Texas Ranger", you don't think of all-out suspense, unless you've seen episodes involving a rather dark villain named Victor LaRue. The only episode with that villain that isn't as supenseful as this one or the one before was the first one called "Cowboy", but "The Return of LaRue" and "Trial of LaRue" are without a doubt suspenseful.
The episode's plot involves Alex being in a courtroom during a trial in which the courtroom has yet to decide Victor LaRue's fate, which may be the death penalty. However, certain things happened like him going crazy, enough to kill a couple of bailiffs, a doctor, and his attorney, which leads to him taking the court hostage, including the judge. He has help from another convict, who he betrays when he tells him about a supposed deal, which he was never serious about. His only cause was to have Walker appear and to kill Alex and Walker. Trivette was also held hostage. Walker was out chasing a couple of thugs in the woods, and had no idea what was going on as he was chasing them. The rest of the rangers tried to contact him until towards the end after he apprehended the two thugs and he got word of what was going on and went into the courtroom. LaRue was about to shoot Walker, but Walker laid a couple of bullets to him which led him to his fate.
A great episode overall. I was at the edge of my seat when I saw this a while back, especially during the parts when LaRue threatened the little girl and her parents. Great episode, no doubt, but make sure you know what you're in for.moreless
