Stumbled upon this and gave it a whirl...Excellent acting although altogether odd to see Brits playing characters in a Swedish setting complete with tv and print media throughout in Swedish...A bit of a mystery that takes time to build up but once it does, it's compelling stuff, IMHO.

I agree. Kenneth Branagh is certainly not the Wallander I imagined but I like this tv version very much anyway.

Does anyone know the name of the song that plays over the introductory credits or how I could find out? Thanks

AWESOME episode, hope they're planning on doing more, he's so believable and tortured. I have a hard time with accents, can someone tell me what Kurt says to his daughter when he hugs her right after shooting the teenager? All I heard was something about a secret. Thanks!!

What a TERRIBLE TV adaptation of Mankell's book. I had just finished reading the book when I stumbled upon this movie. Even though the acting is quite good, there is absolutely nothing left of the plot of the book. If you haven't read the book, by all means do so, and experience what you have missed. What goes on in the head of the killer? What does he do with the scalps, and why? Why did he pick these men? In the book, he wants to add some more victims to his list. I won't tell you who - that'd be a spoiler. Again, read the book and then see for yourself what a waste of 90 minutes this movie really is.
