  • Wander over to this show. You certainly won't regret it.

    9.5
In my honest opinion, I think Wander Over Yonder is one of the best things Disney has released in a while. Not quite as good as Gravity Falls, but I still think this an absolutely fantastic show! So, let's wander right into Wander Over Yonder!

The Story: The main plot of the series revolves around Wander, an optimistic space-traveler and his tough but caring steed, Sylvia, as they travel from planet to planet helping people, all against the evil Lord Hater and his army of Watchdogs. The plot is very simple, and it's one of those shows that doesn't really have a story arc (Not yet, anyway. Heard there's gonna be one in Season 2. ) , and that makes it easy to follow. Plus, the writers are really good at telling humorous, yet well-written stories.

The Animation: OH. MY. GOSH. The animation in Wander Over Yonder is SMOOTH. As in, the smoothest I've seen in years. Everything just blends together perfectly, and it perfectly compliments the settings, and characters.

The Songs: And wouldn't you know it, the songs in this show are good too! The theme Song is VERY catchy, and songs like "Take a Step Inside Your Mind" and "If You Wander Over Yonder" still haven't left my head after about a month. Also, the background music (Non-lyrical) is also really good.

The Characters: I'll say it now. I like every character in Wander Over Yonder. Wander is hilarious, yet also knows when he's done something wrong. Sylvia can be a bit harsh at first, but as you see more of her, she's more like Wander's protector. Lord Hater is a really comical villain, and coming from the voice of Bloo from Foster's Home of Imaginary Friends, I'd expect no less. And Commander Peepers is a serious, yet puny right hand man to Lord Hater, who's probably my second favorite character in this show, next to Wander.

The Verdict: This show is the most pleasant surprise I've encountered all year. It's charming, its songs are catchy, Its characters are memorable, and In my opinion, It's just an absolute source of joy.

  • Amazing and funny and a great show to help Disney's reputation.

    10
This is an amazing show next to gravity falls. Its funny at times and creative to. Some episodes are girly and such and other episodes have a lot of stuff for boys and most episodes are both really. If Disney makes more shows like Gravity Falls and This show Disney might have a chance. Keep up the great work with these shows :D
  • The saving grace of Disney animation.

Plot: The series follows Wander, an overly-optimistic intergalactic traveler and his steed Sylvia traveling from planet to planet helping people have fun and live free, all against Lord Hater and his army of Watchdogs' evil reign. Lord Hater is the most powerful villain in the universe with Commander Peepers serving as his second in command and leader of the Watchdog Army. My opinions: I like Wander Over Yonder, but it's a really overrated show and a lot of people are comparing this to SpongeBob. Enough of that, Wander may be like YET another SpongeBob ripoff character, but he's kind of different from him. I enjoy it as much as Craig McCracken's two other shows from Cartoon Network. I wish he stayed there since WOY doesn't really belong to Disney at all. Oh well, but at least it's one of the saving grace of Disney animation along with Gravity Falls. Same for Disney Channel even though they're bigger &@$t@rd@ for sending new episodes and reruns to Disney XD. Man, screw you DC, your channel is not even good anyways! It's bad enough that the channel is full of teenage sitcom (bleep). I tolerate the show more than the repetitive Phineas and Ferb and poorly done Fish Hooks. Gravity Falls is still the best Disney animated show.

STORY: The plots are unique in certain episodes. 9/10

WRITING: The writing team is amazing. They know how to be creative. 10/10

HUMOR: The writers are talented at making me laugh. 10/10

DRAMA: Not very much so I can't comment on that.

VOICE ACTING: TBH, I'm not a big fan on Wander's voice actor because Jack is kind of annoying and he always act the same in every role. I'll give credit for other VAs that are not Jack McBraver (whatever his last name is spelled) since I've heard of them before. However, there are guest stars from time to time and I'm not that gushy towards them. 8.5/10

ART: WAY different than Craig McCracken's other shows. Instead of ripping off PPG and FHFIF, this show kind of rips off Fish Hooks (meh) especially with the the lip movements which is weird. I'm not really fan of it, but it's far from being awful. 7/10

ANIMATION: I love it. In some episodes, it stands out more than a typical episode of PPG and FHIF. 10/10

LASTING Appeal: It may not last as long as the other two show but I'll give it 3 to 4 seasons.

CONCLUSION: Disney may suck now with their lame shows and crap but Wander Over Yonder is the saving grace from that. Although I wish it belong on Cartoon Network due to Craig McCracken's involvement.

  • They wern't even trying with this show.

    3.0
As a fan of Craig McCracken's works such as Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and PPG, and his wifes as well such My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, I thought this show would be interesting, and to be honest seeing the promos for WOY made it look promising, little did I know that this show would be a total bomb. The show is about a hyperactive orange alien blob named Wander who likes spreading love and joy everywere he goes. Two words: RIP OFF! The shows idea is a complete rip off of SpongeBob. Why do a lot of modern day cartoons have to rely on SpongeBob ripoffs? At least I'll give it some credit because it's better than most modern day SpongeBob rip offs (Breadwinners, Sanjay and Craig, Fanboy and Chum Chum .

The characters all have odd and corny names. Wander, Sylvia, Lord Hater. I mean what the heck, they weren't even trying with these names. Wander, like I said before, is a complete SpongeBob rip off, and he acts stupid and gets really irritating with his hyperactivity. Sylvia is just bland and forgettable. Lord Hater is just your generic cartoon villain that doesn't even try to destroy his enemies and *always* messes up in every scheme he does. Another thing worth pointing out is the severe lack of female characers. There's Sylvia and a few backrounders but that's pretty much it. Other than that, 95% of this shows characters are males.

The humor is nothing more than childish and corny gags rehashed from other shows that's not even funny, and sometimes even potty humor.

The animation though I like, and I thought it flowed nicely with the character movements, despite having a few animation errors. The artwork is terrible and *way* too colorful. The art colors are so ridiculously bright it feels like barfing rainbows in my eyes and it makes me sick.

Wander Over Yonder could've been an instant classic, but it just fails in characters, comedy and art direction. I give it credit because it's far better than those teen sitcoms Disney shows nowadays and a little better than Fish Hooks, but it's still not that great. I understand some people like this show, and I respect their opinions, but I just couldn't get into it.moreless
