  • Learning the Thug 101: A Nancy Botwin Story

    9.5
U Turn takes Nancy under his wing trying to make her his new lieutenant and Marvin gets jealous. Conrad and the Grow Gang continue to grow their crops. Nancy must throw a party for Sullivan and plans to pocket most of the money whilst trying to conceal the trunk of heroin in her house. Andy lines up a catering job while Sullivan and Celia get cozy amongst one another and Doug gets jealous enough to send profanity laden golf balls through her windows. All in a terrific episode but in the grand scheme of things that is not how I wanted U Turn to go out. Sure it was funny and unexpected but this lead to the eventual downfall of the series after this moment. Imagine if Weeds Season 4 had been Nancy taking over U Turn's drug empire after him dying in a climactic season finale gunfight? But that's just my dream. Good job Weeds.moreless
  • We have a party sprung on Nancy, so she's busy with that as well as trying to be an understudy to U-turn, not a willing one, Doug and Celia's love to hate one another continues as Doug joins the eco warriors !!!!moreless

    9.5
The episode starts off with Andy cooking some eggs in the kitchen, he is just wearing his underpants, when Nancy gets a phone call about organising a party from her boss, he's wants her to host a party and he wants to do it for 5 grand but wants it to look like 10 grand. Of course Nancy turns it around on Andy and wants the party to include bacon wrapped things, wants it to look like 5 grand, but is only gonna give him 1 grand.

Doug, being out to get what he wants to, knowing that Celia gets a house compared to his golf membership, hits some balls through her windows before he stops the work on the pipeline, as it endangers the Dirt Shrew (remember the eco warrior group - it looks like it now has 2 members - LOL )

U-turn take Nancy to the new grow house location, so that as his nasty sidekick, she can kick over a few pots to emphasis who is in charge. Needless to say, Heylia and Conrad know its all U-turns doing. He has taken as his mission to train Nancy to be the best drug dealer that she can be, so he has her helping him out to train, hence grasshopper.

The party seems to have been a success, although Nancy was worried when Celia starts concentrating on the chest of heroin, the Andy comes in and starts on about recipe boxes and Shane keeps pestering for wanting a word.

Silas, selling weed to a few of the old folk, gets sort of semi-busted by a church bearing female, who confronts him after the bingo and offers him the function of a smoke out the following day.

The training continues the following morning, but when U-turn's high blood pressure causes him to have a turn, Marvin sends Nancy off to get some help, but Marvin sees his opportunity to take over by helping u-turn on his way.moreless
  • Nancy spars with U-Turn and Marvin gets his revengen

    8.8
Well, that certainly was an unexpected ending but a great one. U-turn was playing Marvin and Nancy against each other and seemed to groom Nancy to be his second in command. The visit to Heylia and Conrad was evil, making Nancy turn against them was just proving a point. When Marvin got his revenge I was shocked but I thought it was a good solution. I didn't like the way Nancy behaved around U-turn and it will now be interesting to see who will take over.

Nancy has got to pay more attention to Shane. The guy is clearly unhappy and she just ignores it, which is not good.

Silas find anotehr love interest. I'm sure this won't have a happy ending either.

Celia and Doug are still fighting and Doug is now aiming at Sullivan too...moreless
  • omg he died no way

    10
i cant beleive uturn died i mean he was murdered wasnt he i mean he was smothered so i am wondering where this will leave nacy i mean will someone pick up her tab or will it be forgotton and the heroin she has in her house is she gonna sell it it ? these are the questions i ask myself mary kate olsen makes her appearance in this epi as the girl silas meets and her acting is not that bad and is quite beleiveable as a pot smoking religious person :)

whaty i hated about this was silas being trained by u turn to be his second command ? no didnt like that so i am glad u turn died :)moreless
  • A slightly above average episode.

    7.5
By Weeds standards, this episode was barely above average, but that doesn't meant it wasn't entertaining. In fact, this episode had about the same amount of laughs as the previous one, although the plot wasn't so intriguing.

If there's one character I dislike, that's Silas. Lately, the focus on him has lessened. But now it's rising agian, unfortunately. His teenage boy personality WOULD work, if he wasn't soo god damn annoying. And creating YET ANOTHER love interest for him feels so rehashed. Especially Mary Kate Olsen.. come on. Why not Lindsey Lohan immediately? Anyways, the rest of the episode was great, although I would've loved to see more Doug and Andy, but hey, you can't always get what you want.

U Turn passing out was hilarious and bizarre at the same time, great plot twist. Now it should be interesting if Marvin wants to take U Turn's place, or will simply let Nancy go. Overall, a great way to spend half hour.moreless
